There’s a lot of misconceptions around Ivy. It’s not a parasite, it has its own roots in the soil, and the tree adapts to the weight. You don’t need to cut ivy unless the tree is already dying and could fall on a track, but in that case fell the tree. This is just vandalism

Yesterday I was asked a question which caught me unprepared. "What would I do to avert the climate and ecology catastrophe if I was completely in charge?" I'll start: Ban peat extraction End driven grouse shooting and restore uplands Ban single use plastics Insulate all homes

BIG WIN FOR CONSERVATION 🙌 A former grouse moor is to become a sanctuary for birds of prey and other wildlife as part of a multi-million pound buyout by the local community.👇

Imagine cruel people in their nice cosy homes take all the time and effort to put up spikes in Trees so that the little birds looking for shelter from the cold wind rain and heat in Trees as nature intended are met with cruel spikes to hurt them and leave them with no shelter

@Feargal_Sharkey @thameswater Hi Sarah Bentley - I've just emptied my bath into a rain butt outside- it took ten trips with a large trug. I shall use the water on the few plant we have that are still alive. What did you do to save water today?

It's not difficult....long grass with wildflowers, insects etc. and a mown path from a to b. Cheaper into the bargain.

Hedges are vital wildlife refuges and corridors in this nature-depleted country. They continue too be cut too hard, too often and at the wrong time of year. It must stop. @DefraGovUK @DefraNature

This was once a beautiful wildlife habitat full of life and protected species. Now I’m watching it being demolished brutally while my government sits back and does nothing. I’m in tears. I don’t know what to do anymore.

This is the worse I've ever seen. Each bit of that litter has been thrown from a car by a disgusting lout. Set up cameras to take film and number plates and fine them heavily. For repeat offences make them litter-pick from a mile of verge or take their car away and crush it.

Because they don't give a shit about the natural world and do exactly as they please as they always have done. No penalties will be levied, so why should they change their ways?

I watched a hungry bumblebee flying around a garden this morning, looking in vain for a meal, bypassing the daffodils. Dandelions are absolutely critical now if these bees are not to starve to death, the least we can do is not mow them!

Once again the council, who clearly have so much money they can use some of it to obliterate a nice bank of Green Alkanet and other wild flowers which have been sustaining all manner of bees and other insects. It's truly pathetic. @RBWM @BracknellForest you must do better.
