sure, but it’s not just that people are awed by the scale. there’s also the sense that no one cared or that life is cheap in china or w/e. like the fact that i’ve never heard about something means that it was a trivial non-event for everyone else too. annoying
I am a nonfiction writer. The events and people I’ve described are real. Whether or not those people are telling the truth is a different question. Thank you for reading, subscribe to n+1 :)

a lot of people’s behavior on here makes more sense when you remember that they’re “beast-people” or “non-humans” made from the dust of the earth using cosmic genetic technologies
From where I stand, society's ideal system should be "seven rest days". Following Sunday, there should ensue a second, a third, and indeed an infinite procession of Sundays. This should be the face of the new world - idyllic, eternal, peaceful days.
friend who works in m&a was telling me about how the israeli corporate world is in free fall—one tech company trying to sell disclosed that their entire development team was kia
in germany you have to minimize/apologize for the bombing of dresden bc of its appropriation by the far-right. and now that’s mutated into a universal principle that unlimited civilian casualties are permitted in the course of a just war. so crazy
You can debate the extent of anti-Semitism on the Western left, but the nature of its new form is undeniable: the Jew is hated not for being a deracinated cosmopolitan but for being too 'Western': white, colonialist, nationalist. Hating the Jew cleanses the West of its old sins.

it’s pretty gripping! definitely worth watching imo. as for realism, all the cases are fictional, but about common types of corruption (corrupt sale of public land etc)
absolutely in awe of this Buddhist monastery in Northumberland which sings Buddhist scripture to Anglican Chant, the way psalms are sung in high church CofE 🤯
lenin: “This bodhisattva can stretch seven days into a kalpa, so that to those beings they really seem like a whole kalpa . . . this bodhisattva can squeeze a kalpa into seven days so that to those beings it seems like only seven days.”

union pension funds were victims of financialization, putting workers’ savings in the hands of dumb bankers who make moronic investments and charge high fees, instead of cool gangsters with interesting casino opportunities
I am the southern manifestation of the deity of the Virtuous Fire Planet. I was sent down to destroy your house. But your kindness has moved me, so I give you this warning: get home now and remove all your valuables before I descend upon your house tonight.
Bold new theories of inflation, ignored by the academic mainstream:

. Inflation is caused by the Kierkegaardian sin of despair, the “sickness unto death” at the heart of the human condition.
@neurotard
that podcast rocks bc mmt to them isn’t even about economics. mmt just means “being optimistic” or “anything is possible”. it’s like that self help thing about fixed vs growth mindset

(reading the guy who came up with all the stuff i believe) some insights, but overall pretty derivative. there’s not much in here that hasn’t been believed everywhere always and by all.
“here’s this concept. it doesn’t exist. it also doesn’t not exist. thus the bodhisattva knows it neither exists nor doesnt exist” ok just a second ago i don’t know about this and wasn’t thinking about how it existed or not existed. but now i am. you fucked me
The logs show Nina Power claiming "the social disapproval for 'racism' is a psyop to stop people realising that there *are* alien and fairy races", and that "black and white were alien races and very different".
Mr Miller replied, "yes you should not reveal this to most people".
