I am hearing that some talented college teams are starting to crack because of NIL payments not being made on time, NIL promises not kept or jealousy among teammates. Not a value judgement on NIL. It’s just human nature. The “new normal.”

I’m no genius but if a student-athlete decides to opt out this year because of the virus, his @ncaa eligibility clock should stop. Add it on to the end. It’s why we have a sixth year of eligibility for things like major injuries. I think a once a century pandemic might qualify.

My friend & former ⁦ @OSUMBB ⁩ walk-on Dee Mitchell has earned a full scholarship from ⁦ @thacoachmike ⁩. If you don’t know his story, he works 40 hours a week at ⁦ @Walmart ⁩, took 15 hours of classes with four A’s & a B and plays college hoops!

It’s time for college basketball to adopt 24-second shot clock. It would make game more exciting for fans, develop a higher skill level for players & improve the coaching & teaching of offense & defense. If Pete Carril can take Princeton O to NBA, college coaches can adjust, too.

Here’s the plan: 72 teams in the NCAA field. All 32 automatic qualifiers are seeded into the field. The top 24 at-large teams are seeded into the field. Then, the remaining 16 at-large teams play in the First Eight in Dayton. Four games each day instead of two. Nothing else…

. @CoachProhm had an impossible job replacing Fred Hoiberg & 4 future NBA players @CycloneMBB . I was worried for him. But, he’s done amazing job of restocking the roster. So many similarities to team that won 3 @Big12Conference Tourney titles.

One of the things I miss about coaching are road wins. @WVUhoops will board their charter & the food from Louie’s Bar & Grill will taste like Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. The bonding of the players after that comeback is something they’ll talk at those hoops reunions some day.

Very sad news about @CycloneMBB @caleb_grill0 ending his career as a Cyclone. Read his letter to the Clones fan base & wish him the best. Mental heath issues of student-athletes is real. Pulling for & praying for Caleb come out on other side of this better! 🙏🏻🏀👍🏻

The @BaylorMBB - @CycloneMBB game did not disappoint. Hilton crowd was awesome, the intensity was sky-high seemingly every play, the Clones might be for real & the Bears have championship DNA. It showed when it mattered. Another night in the @Big12Conference .

Since 2019, @Big12Conference now has five different schools in the Elite 8, three to the Final Four and two National Champions. And, the two who’ve not gone to Final Four are still alive this weekend.

. @CoachScottCross was 82-33 last 3 years at Texas-Arlington with wins at Ohio State, Texas, St.Mary’s, BYU twice. AD thought they should be better. LAST TIME I will ever step in that arena.
