At every step of my political journey I have worked hard, and approached each diligently and honestly. I made a grave mistake and for that I’m truly sorry. I commit to working to regain your trust.
Let me congratulate J. Wray and Nephew who have committed to making 100,000 litres of pure alcohol available to the national health sector to ease the pressure on sanitization essentials. This will definitely ease the demand from the public sector.

Your dreams are valid! You can do anything you set your mind to, believe in yourself, have a great support team and work as hard as possible. Never allow anyone to discredit your dreams. Honoured to be your Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.
I have lived, laughed, loved, lost and learnt. I am eternally grateful to God for his many blessings, for an amazing family, for friends who became family and for all who have believed in and poured into me over these years. I remain humbled by your never ending encouragement.

Remember the Barrett Triplets from my constituency? Truly grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support especially from Munro Old Boys, Hampton Old Girls, the Ministry of Labour & Social Security and so many others. Happy that the Mayor and I could help.

On this day 238 years ago, a ship named the Zong arrived in Black River from Africa as part of the Slave Trade. The crew had seen to the murder of at least 122 Africans by throwing them over board with the hope of being able to claim insurance. Today we gathered to remember.
The journey may not be a straight line, there are often hurdles, pitfalls and some times self inflicted wounds. Regardless of the setback learn from it, take responsibility for it and keep working to create a better version of self.

Spoke to Jermaine Morris, crab entrepreneur. Upsetting and heartbreaking but he is in good spirits and determined to keep his entrepreneurial spirit alive. Sgt Nickle and our Praedial Larceny Team visited and are following some leads. We are exploring ways in which we can help.
Yesterday I visited Mrs. Julia James, from Newell in my constituency, to join with her as she celebrated 98 years on this earth. She and Oswald, her husband who is also 98, have been married for 70 years and together for 78 years. Saw love in its purest form.

The House of Parliament just passed an amendment to the Noise Abatement Act for the Festive Season (until January 31, 2020) which provides the framework for events to go until 2 am during the week and to 4 am on weekend.
Hard to see a young man work so hard to secure multiple degrees, show genuine leadership ability, significant intellectual acumen and the angle that’s taken is to play down his achievements and make him appear unworthy.. really is a toxic world.

Come March 1, 2021 our Fisherfolk and Farmers will be able to access a Group Health and Life Insurance Plan. Thanks to Sagicor for answering the call and pulling together the Sagicor Agri Care Plan. Looking forward to other such facilities.
Please note that Lobster Season is closed! April 1 to June 30. It is illegal to catch Lobsters during this period.
Lobster currently in storage for sale, export or processing must be declared to the National Fisheries Authority. Let them reproduce, let them grow!
For me my 2021 is best summed up by Charles Dickens - “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity...”

Today Parliament approved a resolution I brought to tackle the issue of price gouging. It makes it a criminal offence to raise the prices of necessary goods during the declaration of a disaster area without there having been a rise in the cost of obtaining the goods
Full days of moving around and saying thank you. Really appreciate being given the opportunity to represent the people of SW St. Bess again. Fun fact: SW St. Bess had the highest voter turnout % in the island, almost 52%

My deepest condolences to the Duncan Family. One of the most riveting conversations I have had in politics was with D K Duncan. Sat with him when I was caretaker and the man was blunt, witty, frank, shared his current view of politics n what I should avoid. Rest Well DK Duncan.

Fun Fact. Was nominated for the PMYA for Leadership during my UWI Days. Never won, but definitely was a great feeling being recognized plus really drove me to work even harder. Got the chance to be the Minister in charge of it all. Keep pushing!
Also very happy that Dalton shared his story. There are a # of parents causing irreparable damage to their children in the name of discipline. Not just physical harm but deep pyschological scars. I hope this conversation brings us closer to a realisation that it is wrong.
Spent so many years trying to calm parents about PEP. Now we a try hold it together while he smiling. Prayers up for Nathaniel Marcus as he starts his exam journey. Hasn’t been an easy year especially with virtual school but he is a SUPERSTAR! Wishing all the kids the very best.
