Barbie and Ken two are med students with similar abilities. Ken comes from a working class family. He has to work part time along with studying, sometimes difficult to balance. Barbie comes from a well off family. She does not have to work and has a good uni/life balance

I find it ridiculous that you’re only allowed 20 sick days on a job where you’re exposed to illnesses every day. 5 days isolation for covid and that’s 1/4 of your sick leave gone. I’ve been ill so many times and I’ve only been a doctor for 4 months.

Awww I found this in my old papers 😭 The consultant roasted me really badly on ward round so afterwards the junior doctor checked up on me and spent time patiently teaching me what I didn’t understand. And you know what, that’s the type of doctor I want to be :)

My friends hospital hires locums to cover night shifts/on call shifts in changeover week so that rotating doctors can get a proper induction and feel orientated Hospitals like that show that they care about trainees. This is how you retain doctors

Should be policy that someone on the ward has attempted bloods before the on call doctor is bleeped. If you have multiple nurses on the ward trained to do phlebotomy, it makes sense to ask them first rather than the 2 doctors who are covering 7 wards on their own.
