Alex Sarr is not your typical NBA center, nor your typical first overall pick, but that doesn't mean that he can't be the best player in the draft.
A deep dive on the french big and his NBA projection for
@NoCeilingsNBA
.
Most impressive aspect of Sharavjamts' game might be his passing for his size (measured at 6'8.75" in shoes at Nike Hoop Summit this year), he has an ample passing repertoire, able to find teammates with creative passing deliveries in pick-and-roll and in the early offense.
While scouting Duncanville I watched UConn commit Stephon Castle have one of the best single games from a prospect I've seen in a while. Incredible level of body control, deceleration and touch on all levels of the floor for his 6'7" size. Has NBA potential as a versatile scorer.
Lucas Maglietti really shined today for Argentina. 5'10" lead-initiator that has tremendous creativity as a passer on the move and knows how to use the gravity he generates as a driver to get opportunities for open teammates.
A lot of talented people on Draft Twitter got hired this offseason. It's on us, the ones who have been here the longest to open the doors for the next generation, the same way other people did for us previously. This is not the end of an era but the start of a new one.
I’m looking for opportunities and roles in basketball for next season that will help me learn, gain experience and take the next step in my career. I’ve been scouting for different outlets (
@TheStepien
,
@idprospects
) for the past four years, focusing on International prospects.
Really excited about joining the team at
@NoCeilingsNBA
where I'll be covering international prospects ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft.
As a long-time fan of the work of everyone at the site, it's an awesome opportunity for me to join a tremendously talented squad and learn a ton.
We’re more than excited to add Ignacio Rissotto (
@eyreball
) to our team.
His work ethic and knowledge of the international game of basketball is going to be a HUGE addition.
Welcome to the family 🤝
I've been scouting Wembanyama for the past four years, I should be desensitized to this stuff by now after having watched hours upon hours of his film.
But I can't help to say "holy shit" out loud at least once every time I watch him play.
Unreal stuff.
Leandro Bolmaro had 10pts, 5ast & 4stl in yesterday's game against Betis. After starting the season on a cold stretch, Bolmaro is now on 42.9% from three-point range for the season; 55.8% since January according to
@InStatBasket

> Shits on "NBA Draft Board Twitter".
> Puts two prospects (Ja & Trae) as an example, without realizing that "NBA Draft Boart Twitter" was high on both of them before anyone else.
> Says people "whiffing" on Luka was due to lack of intel.
I just can't.
Highlights of Miro Little 🇫🇮 (2004) triple double performance on Friday, he went for 26pts, 13reb & 10ast against MuKi. A 2023 recruit holding an offer from Indiana, Little is one of the most interesting two-way prospects in Europe at the moment.
📊 via
@InStatBasket
Alex Sarr 🇫🇷 put up 11pts, 2reb & 1stl in 19 minutes, on 5/7 FG in his second game of the season. Sarr continues to stand out with his ability to put the ball on the floor, touch around the basket and shooting potential at his 7'1" size.
Full highlights from 🇵🇹 Ruben Prey (2005) at ANGT, where he earned MVP honors after averaging 14pts, 13.5reb & 3.3blk per game. Showed his unique fluidity and coordination for his 6'11" size. Plays with a lot of energy on defense. Potential 1st round pick in 2024.
I took on the impossible task of trying to identify the top 20 European prospects under 20 for
@FIBA
and
@EuroBasket
. After many attempts to narrow down my longlist, here's the final result.
I will be covering the U20 European Championships for the FIBA website, providing player spotlights and overviews during the tournament. It's a huge opportunity for me and I'm really excited about the next few weeks.
I will be posting all my content in the following thread.
Nikola Topic 🇷🇸 is on a breakout 2023-24 campaign, he had 21pts, 10ast & 2reb on 6/9 FG today against FMP. Topic is playing with tremendous poise as a primary ball-handler, getting to the rim against pressure and finding teammates on the move. Playing like a 1st round pick.
Juan Nuñez 🇪🇸 is one of the best passers to come out of the international game in the past few years. His creativity, vision and understanding of passing angles is tremendous.
Piece on him + other German league prospect coming out tomorrow at
@NoCeilingsNBA
.
Ruben Prey 🇵🇹 with 12pts, 3stl, 2reb, 2ast & 1blk on 5/9 shooting in today's game vs. Breogan. At 6'10", Prey has a versatile offensive profile being able to finish at the rim, put the ball on the floor and occasionally shoot from the perimeter. Creates defensive events as well.
Recent drafts have shown us that teams are not taking productivity at the pro level that much into account when making decisions. For
@NoCeilingsNBA
I wrote about how identifying the best INTL player in each draft class might be easier than we thought.
16pts, 5ast, 5reb & 2stl for Juan Nuñez 🇪🇸 in yesterday's game vs. Bonn. The
@ratiopharmulm
Guard is one of the best passers in the 2024 Draft, being quick to read the floor and creative and accurate with his deliveries. He was able to attack the rim in this game as well.
I'm really excited to join the talented team of scouts at
@_proinsight
. Really looking forward to contribute with their international (and maybe some high school) coverage.
My first piece for

is out! I go over 10 different standouts from FIBA U17 Centrobasket, including:
🇵🇷 Alejandro Aviles
🇯🇲 London Johnson
🇯🇲 Marcus McDonald
🇩🇴 Edwin Daniel Linares
🇲🇽 Santiago Camacho
🇲🇽 Aram Soqui
🇵🇷 Edir Ortiz
2024 PG Nathan Noronha 🇵🇹 ('06) had an impressive performance at the U16 Euros. Showed a combination of handling, gravity passing, versatile shooting and perimeter defense; led the tournament with 4.3 stl per game. Currently playing at

Been having some health issues; nothing serious or life-threatening, but it is something that doesn't allow me to go 100% in life and it sucks because there's so much basketball right now that I should cover but I can't. If I didn't reply to y'alls texts recently, this is why.

Huge news for Michigan as Franz Wagner is the best shooter in the international 2001 class. He played important minutes this year at both Eurocup and the German BBL for ALBA. Both things bode well for him being a contributor from day one at Michigan.

Really liked what I've saw from Eduardo Klafke (2005) 🇧🇷 at the U18 Americas, playing one year up in age, showing versatile scoring ability both at the rim and from beyond the three-point line. Currently shooting 81.6 TS% through the first three games.
To make it even more impressive, France is in this tournament without three of their best players in this generation, as Victor Wembanyama, Rayan Rupert and Bilal Coulibaly were all eligible to play U19s.
Risacher has been one of the most popular pick for the Pistons because of his positional fit and his floor-spacing, but it's hard to justify him going there if you don't believe he'll be an elite shooter at the NBA level. Detroit might have to defalut to BPA at this point.
Zaccharie Risacher going through a slump here with most NCAA prospects entering predraft. Since 1/20 he's 19-67 3PT (28%). Worth thinking about for a potential
#1
pick (along with 69% FT) given how much shooting has powered his draft stock. Scored 10+ just once over last 7 games.
Alex Sarr is projected as the
#1
pick in the 2024 draft. I talked to the experts about his path to the NBA and what makes him a special prospect for
@FIBA
and
@EuroBasket
.
With most of the rosters up on the FIBA site, here's my player watchlist for the U19 World Cup starting saturday. Highlighted players are the most interesting for me in terms of NBA potential.
Dash Daniels (2007) 🇦🇺 had a great FIBA U15 Oceania Championship. Versatile offensive player who shot the ball incredibly well (47.4% 3P) and added value as a driver and passer. The younger brother of Dyson Daniels shows tremendous skill and polish at just 14 years old.
Adyel Borges (2002) from Brazil is one of the most fun prospects that I've had the most fun watching lately: creative & flashy passer who is also able to create his own drive. Wonder how he continues to develop as a shooter and finisher at the rim.
From my German league piece from a few weeks ago: "If there’s a prospect who could potentially make a Bilal Coulibaly-type late-season rise on draft boards should he find the available minutes, it’s [Dadiet]."
It's all coming together for Dadiet.
Really impressed by 2002-born 🇻🇪 Franger Pirela. Creates drives nearly at will with his open-court speed and one quickest first steps I can remember from an international Guard. Currently playing in Spanish Liga EBA, will be moving up in competition level sooner than later.
Cade Cunningham, the nation's No. 1 prospect and potential No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, signed to play at Oklahoma State. The NCAA just banned OSU from postseason play.
Impressive game from 🇷🇸 Tristan Vukcevic (2003) against Skopje yesterday: 13pts, 7reb, 2stl & 1ast. Vukcevic is impressively fluid and creative with the ball in his hands for his 6'10" size. Now shooting 39.5% from three on the season.
Goals for 2022: Be more consistent watching film, putting out content and connecting with basketball people. Take better care of my health (sub-goals: Have a regular sleep schedule, drink more water, eat better, exercise more). Control what I can control. Rest will come.
Tidjane Salaun 🇫🇷 with 15pts, 3reb, 2stl & 1blk today in Eurocup play against Tenerife. Salaun is one the most intriguing long-term prospects in the 2024 draft due to his combination of 6'10" size, floor-spacing ability and defensive potential.
Zaccharie Risacher 🇫🇷 could make his debut with the French national team today. I talked to the experts and went over what makes the
@JLBourgBasket
player the potential
#1
pick in the 2024 NBA Draft in this piece for
@FIBA
and
@EuroBasket
.
So, if y'all out there making any sort of draft content (YT videos, Twitch streams, starting a blog or posting scouting reports on reddit) feel free reach out. I'll be happy to help in any way I can and I think most of people in the draft community will do the same.
FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers start on thursday. I compiled a list of twelve players 23-and-under to watch during the first qualifying window for
@EuroBasket
and
@FIBA
, including 🇫🇷 Zaccharie Risacher, 🇵🇹 Ruben Prey and more.
Good time for a reminder: If you are just starting out or have a "smaller" podcast and you need someone to talk upcoming international prospects or young international NBA players, feel free to hit me up.
If me being on your pod can help with anything, I'd love to appear on it.
The draft community has to strive to become more of a community man. This thing is continuously growing as more and more people get involved in the love of scouting. There is so much chest pumping and punching down or this weird lack of acknowledgment or want to collaborate with…
Any job that allows me to watch countless hours of basketball tape and write reports on players and/or team schemes, while making a livable wage (which is way less than you'd think considering the cost of living where I'm at).
New piece for
@TheStepien
, where I talk about defensive questions, how they can be answered by simply watching enough tape and how choosing to answer them (or not) leads to the building of a scouting philosophy.
I think there's another layer to "why is this team bad at drafting" and that is why are certain teams unable to develop any of the prospects they draft.
If you are drafting busts year in and year out, at some point you have to look at your developmental staff.
“Why is it the same teams that always draft well? And the same teams that always draft poorly?”
LeBron and JJ Redick on the
@mindthegamepod

I made this tweet back in 2021 when like 70% of Draft Twitter got hired. Two years later, we have
@NoCeilingsNBA
,
@SwishTheory
,
@Barlowe500
,
@DraftDigest
+ more becoming great sources of info and analysis for the NBA Draft.
So yeah, I was right.
A lot of talented people on Draft Twitter got hired this offseason. It's on us, the ones who have been here the longest to open the doors for the next generation, the same way other people did for us previously. This is not the end of an era but the start of a new one.
I mostly scout players who are anywhere from 1 to 4 drafts away, so it's a bit different than scouting for a specific draft, but here's recent changes I made due to past years' misses.
(and yes, these are screenshots from a Windows 10 notepad, why you ask?)
I profiled projected top 5 prospect in the NBA Draft and reigning FIBA U18 EuroBasket MVP 🇷🇸 Nikola Topic for
@FIBA
and
@NextGenHoops
. Talked about his background, his meteoric rise over the last year and his future in the NBA and the Serbian NT.
Finally, for those who didn't get a job this offseason: focus on the process. I know it's frustrating, but if you love what you do (watching film, scouting, creating content) focus on that and tune out the outside noise. The opportunities will come sooner than later.
Going through tape from Pistons draft-and-stash 🇮🇹 Gabriele Procida and I really like his footwork on offense. Despite not being super quick or shifty, he is able to create space for jumpers against opposing defenders.
@matissa15
There are good comps and bad comps.
Good comp = "He plays similar to X"/"Has a similar archetype to Y"/"Reminds me of Z"
Bad comp = "He's the next [Insert Hall of Famer name here]"
Versatile 6'8" forward Berke Buyuktuncel 🇹🇷 ('04) made an impact on both ends of the floor today at the FIBA U18 Euro Challengers, putting up a season high (according to
@InStatBasket
) 29 points to go with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks.
This clip illustrates why Usman Garuba is a special defensive prospect. Sprints down the floor in transition before everyone, rotates quickly to prepare himself to contest the driver, leaps with no time to load up, blocks the shot, stays with the play and does it again. Amazing.
When I'm a 7'1" center who switches onto a quick 5'6" Point Guard on a ball screen and blocks his shot, only for the ball defender to die on the screen and give up the offensive rebound.
Full highlights from 🇲🇽 Karim Lopez (2007) at the ANGT Finals. The 6'8" wing made an impact by attacking the rim and making jumpshots. Impressive physical profile in terms of size, mobility and length. Played two years up in age, prospect to track down for the future.
OTE
@overtime
has signed their first European prospect. Alexandre Sarr, a 6-foot-8 inch power forward. One of the top rated 16 year olds in Europe, he’s the brother of Kentucky’s Olivier Sarr. No college for Alex.
Defensively, Kriisa plays with a ton of energy and despite being limited positionally due to his size, he is able to draw offensive fouls/charges with his positioning and willingness to absorb contact.
With the 🇫🇷 LNB Pro A season just around the corner, I wrote about 15+ prospects to follow during the season, including, of course, Vic, but also Matthew Strazel, Kenny Kasiama, Matthieu Gauzin, Zaccharie Risacher, Killian Malwaya, Mohamed Diawara, Bilal Coulibaly and more.
Victor Wembanyama’s shadow looms over the 2022-2023 NBA season, but he isn’t the only Frenchman looking to make the voyage over to the NBA.
@eyreball
writes about the future of French basketball & the prospects that could hear their name during the Draft.
I'm taking a break from social media to focus in watching tape, writing and scouting... Things that I enjoy but I haven't been able to do in a while.
Not that I think anyone cares much about my social media presence, just letting y'all know in case I don't reply to texts/e-mails
My take about the accountability for draft misses conversation on the timeline recently: shit's boring.
With that out of the way, I think it's way more interesting to share what we learned from our misses and how we apply that to our current scouting.
First time watching 2024 Trentyn Flowers from Combine Academy. Listed at 6'9" with a smooth shooting stroke and the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim at his size. Definitely a prospect to follow for the 2025 NBA Draft.
The talk about hits and misses on "draft twitter" is one of the most boring and shallow conversations about the draft you could possibly have.
The real conversation is WHY you hit/missed on a player, what you learnt from it and how it helped shape your current scouting process.
My first International prospect rankings for the 2022 draft are out on
@TheStepien
, including quick descriptions on the games of 14 different prospects.
This passing sequence by Mike Sharavjamts 🇲🇳 is so insane: fakes the transition D with a no-look bounce pass, then gets the offensive rebounds and makes a behind-the-back overhead pass for an open 3. Incredibly fun player to watch.
You know what I love about the G-League Draft? The fact that it's the day before the draft and there's not a single list publcly available of the player pool; I'm sure it makes things really easy for the people who attempt to cover the league.
Felt healty enough to finish scouting a game for the first time in about a month. Bunch of games to go, my whiteboard looks like this but I'm taking it one day at a time.
Juan Nuñez 🇪🇸 (2004) has been playing his best basketball of the season through the past five weeks. Had 10pts, 6ast, 4stl & 3reb over the weekend. Creative passer who is finding his shot recently, went 2/4 from 3pt in this game and has shot 38.9% from beyond the arc in 2023.
Full U16 European Challenger highlights for Declan Duru 🇩🇪 (2007), probably THE standout player of the tournament, playing two years up in age, showing an impressive combination of size, explosiveness, driving ability and shooting potential.
Won't do a draft piece this year, but I want to get all my takes on the international class out, so I can open up discussion and come back to them in a few years and see where exactly I was on draft night.
THREAD ⬇️
Juan Nuñez 🇪🇸 had 11pts yesterday for Ulm on 5/10 FG. After a rough start of the season in terms of percentages, Nuñez is showing an impressive development as a scorer, as he's averaging 12.1 pts on 50% from the field and 43.8% from 3 point range over the last 7 games.
Some news:
I’m thrilled to be joining the team
@SportsInfo_SIS
as a basketball video scout. I can’t thank everyone who’s supported me and my content up to this point enough.
This also goes out to the more "established" NBA Draft content creators. There's something missing if you're not using your platforms to help the next generation out; helping/shouting out "smaller" content creators out there is not going to make y'all less good at your jobs.
I just got laid off from my job. My company depends on flights and, well, there are no more flights... It sucks, but it is what it is.
Sorry if I don't reply to DMs but I gotta focus on getting my life together, so I don't think I'll be much on Twitter for the next few weeks.

Netherlands beat Switzerland 75-57
Netherlands takes the
#1
spot in Group D, they will face Ukraine in the Quarter Finals. Switzerland on the other hand will play against Sweden. Boise State's 🇳🇱 Emmanuel Ugbo had 18pts, 3reb, 2stl & 2blk.
CLUTCH performance by 🇺🇸 Trentyn Flowers (2005). He had 23pts, 3reb, 1ast & 1stl, including 18 points in the 4th quarter in a comeback win for Adelaide against Illawarra. The 18 year old wing was impressive as a shooter, going 8/10 from the field and 5/5 from 3pt range.
ANGT Highlights from 🇸🇳 Sidi Gueye. One of the top players in the 2007 intl generation. Tremendous combination of size, length and agility. Potential as an elite lob catcher and rim protector. Has shown flashes of ball-handling and versatile defense as well.
Lazar Gačić (2005) 🇷🇸 proved to be one the most interesting long term prospects at the U16 Euro Challengers, a 6'11" wing with dribble & shoot abilities that is also able to facilitate from the post. Really interested to continue to track his development moving forward.

@FIBA

@NextGenHoops
, I go over one of the top prospects for the 2024 NBA Draft.
I've been watching Tiefing Diawara 🇲🇱 (2006) from
@Orange1Bassano
during the last month, and he has an argument to be the
#1
player in the 2006 international generation. Tremendous combination of 6'11" size, length (7'3" WS), mobility, power and defensive potential. NBA talent.
Mara, Buyuktuncel and Ivisic being linked to NCAA teams might finally convince coaches/assistants to start recruiting the players that they like instead of limiting themselves to just "INTL players who are interested in college".
Projected first round pick 🇫🇷 Rayan Rupert (2004) had one of his best games since coming back from injury. 12 points on 5/6 from the field. Rupert is looking more confident as a self-creator while making an impact on the defensive end of the floor as well.
