This point can’t be made enough. Talking about impeachment in terms of “overturning the result of an election” misses the entire point of why the impeachment provision is in the Constitution in the first place.

Impeachment is about possibly removing a president who has engaged in certain kinds of bad acts since the election. Saying it’s “overturning” ignores that sequence. It’s in the Constitution because framers worried about presidents who do bad acts after, & or during an election.
