It’s still so odd to me how many folks don’t trust medical science to vaccinate them against covid but will trust medical science to treat them for covid when they go to the hospital for it.
@elchefe
I’m stuck. I haven’t left my house, or seen family. I work remote. I’m terrified to go outside & interact with society; I’m terrified to get the vaccine, due to concerns of an allergy to something in it. I’m even allergic to penicillin (the fix all drug). I don’t know what to do!
@Sean_InfoSec
Allergies to penicillin aren’t uncommon, but comparing an antibiotic to a vaccine is def apples and oranges.
The entire ingredients list for the Moderna vaccine is here:
@aimeefoster
1. What other virus has infected 36 million people & killed 615k in this country over the past 18 months despite all the efforts we’ve made?
2. There is a tuberculosis vaccine
What is driving this is that the vast majority of the unvaccinated in the US are not immunocompromised
@elchefe
It's a bit like the old adage "there are no atheists in a foxhole". When death is at the door, suddenly all previous bets are off. Just my opinion, of course.
@elchefe
Or veterinary science when they go buy some deworming shit from tractor supply and eat it hoping it will cure them because Tucker Carlson said so.
@elchefe
@cherthedev
Actually, doesn't sound too surprising to me?
If they don't take Covid seriously and don't trust the vaccine they won't get it, but when they're seriously ill they'll take anything they can get - including actual medical care!
And prob no conspiracy theory around hospital care?
@elchefe
How to get Americans to take vaccines:
"We've reserved a vaccine for you. Your reservation expires in 30 days. Unclaimed vaccines will be donated to countries in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and South America to reduce the global impact of COVID and the emergence of variants."
@elchefe
I got blasted by a couple people (instant block) for my science/vaccine tweet yesterday.
Is it really just because some politicians just told them it’s bad?!!??
