Inscriptions also feel like taking a step backwards. The EVM was designed to support smart contract logic, inscriptions instead move all the computation off-chain. This leads to more fragmentation and trust in indexers. There's also basically 0 composability with inscriptions.

BlobScriptions! This was a lot of fun to work on. Finally, ethscriptions that use blobs will not have to pay the penalty of base64 encoding binary content! For blobs we have moved to CBOR. This has always been a dream of mine! Check it out!

No one knows. This problem doesn't exist on Facet, because Facet cannot ever be turned off by anyone. If Ethereum is on, Facet is on. Period. This makes us a fierce competitor. But we have greater ambitions than beating Base. No, in 2024 we're coming for *every* L2.

Today, L2 maturity is measured according to a 3 stage framework Vitalik proposed in 2022. All L2s strive to reach "Stage 2," the highest level. Curiously though, there is no uptime requirement for any stage! An L2 can have 364 days of downtime per year and remain Stage 2 Why?

The Ethscriptions indexer is ~50 blocks behind. Not good! This is because we are seeing about 6 new ethscriptions per second. Almost 1/2 of transactions in many recent blocks are ethscription creations! Please use the protocol with care until this is solved!
