Tadhg Beirne just put in one of the most superhuman last quarters in rugby history. Intercept and three turnovers with the weight of the entire AB history squeezing us in our 22. He was great throughout but by god that was INSANE. (Also Ryan’s best game ever.)

Rhys Ruddock is [surprisingly] closer in age to Garry Ringrose than he is to Devin Toner; he'll be 32 at the scheduled time of RWC23. He's playing outstanding rugby at the moment, and should be drafted into the Irish squad for the forthcoming Autumn tournament.

Took great joy approving a comment calling us "whinging shitheads" because a 12yo blog post said said Denis Leamy shouldn't get a central contract in Feb 2012 because he was so injured he could barely play. The unfortunate Leamy (whataplayerhewasbytheway) retired 3 months later.

Amazing effort from Van Der Flier to make it back in 7 months from ACL surgery, but it's a brute of an injury and it generally takes a long time to get used to the repaired knee and find form - see Jordi Murphy and POM during the first 4-5 months of their respective comebacks.

I think Connacht have acted rashly in sacking Kieran Keane. I felt that most of his criticism of the players was accurate and not particularly unfair. It's obviously questionable whether going public with it so frequently was wise ... but the games are played in public too.
