Anyone saying the
@SheHulkOfficial
TV show wasn't "comic book accurate"...
I'm the guy who has written more issues of SHE-HULK than anyone.
I've read every single comic from every
#SheHulk
run.
And I'm saying, for the record, it is the MOST comic book accurate show in the MCU.
"You suck." - Blocked.
"I hate your comics." - Blocked.
"You ruined Spider-Man." - Blocked.
"You don't handle criticism well."
Part of "handling" it is blocking all the rude stuff immediately. Sorry it's a 1 strike policy, but I don't have time to keep a scorecard for everyone.
There should be a clause in EVERY
@netflix
contract that says if your show gets unceremoniously canceled, you get to make a 90 minute movie that wraps everything up.
People arguing the twerking scene in
#SheHulk
wouldn't have happened in the comics...
Byrne had She-Hulk jumping rope in a bikini.
I had her karaokeing, dancing, & partying so hard it was causing structural damage to Avengers Mansion.
This is the hill they want to die on? 🤷
Spidey Facts:
Spectacular Spider-Man is the one Spider-Man where it's okay to break the rule of "no web-line down the center of his chin". (But in every other case, when you put webs on that mask, you should avoid the nose-to-chin line.)
This is the first time I've ever seen my name in the credits of a movie.
And it's a Spider-Man movie.
And it's next to John Romita Sr.
Not going to lie. I might cry a little.
Don't let age stop you.
For every story you hear about a wonder kid who achieved success at some ludicrously young age, there's a story of somebody who didn't even start till they were much older than you. There are role models all around you.
Hi. I have written more
#SheHulk
comics than any human being since the dawn of time, I’ve seen the first 4 episodes of
#SheHulkAttorneyAtLaw
, and I am here to tell you…
…they are SENSATIONAL!!!
After posting this, literally got a post starting out:
"No one’s saying the show isn’t comic accurate pal..."
Love the goal post moving, cause the whole "the show isn't comic accurate" talking point has been going on for MONTHS. From people who clearly have never read SHE-HULK.
I've seen film critics say the MCU is like "series television, but at the movies."
It's simpler than that.
Multiple franchises in a shared universe. Interweaving subplots and soap opera. That's COMICS.
"It's comics, but at the movies."
And that's not a bug, it's a feature.

@SheHulkOfficial
Pug, Wong, Luke, Bruce, Matt, Ched, Jen's dad, an entire support group of men...
There were way more supportive and good men in the show than creeps. The only characters that were vilified were the villains.
People upset over
#SheHulk
twerking for fun with a celebrity that *she* liked...
...somehow have NO problem with Tony Stark having a stripper pole in his private jet in IRON MAN 1-- with women Tony Stark was paying to dance for *his* pleasure.
Spare me this newfound outrage.
"All the men in the SHE-HULK show were toxic."
No.
Bruce, Holliway, Pug, Morris, Ched, Luke, Wong, Daredevil, Blonksy, El Aguila, Man-Bull, Saracen, the Wrecker, Porcupine...
Except for Dennis, Todd, Josh, & the dating app jerks, NO men w/ serious on screen time were toxic.

10 years ago: I pitched a story called Spider-Verse.
5 years ago: The Spider-Verse comics came out.
1 year ago: The Oscar winning motion picture debuted (Outside of Peter, Spider-Gwen, Ham, Miles, Noir, 2099, & '67 being in it, it was COMPLETELY different. And it was perfect!)
Superman shouldn't be jacked.
Nothing on Earth can give his muscles a workout.
He should be a normal guy.
If there's a reason he's jacked, that should apply to Supergirl & Krypto too.
Supergirl should look like a heavyweight bodybuilder,
and Krypto should be a hulked out dog.
I grew up with John Romita's Spider-Man as my Spider-Man. He was already one of my heroes before I'd ever set foot in Marvel.
When I was an intern in the 90's, it was surreal to me that he worked on staff, and I was in awe seeing him walk through the halls.
One day...

Fell down a rabbit hole today of hate and ignorance.
Having an award winning disabled writer tell a story about a disabled Spider-Hero who was created by a disabled fan is a GOOD THING.
That someone could spin that as a bad thing is mind boggling to me.
also...
It's not a seesaw. Neither DC or Marvel have to fail for the other to succeed. Same w/ Star Wars or Star Trek.
It's OK to like ALL the things.
It's OK to hope that all corners of fandom succeed.
Someone liking what THEY like in NO WAY diminishes from you liking what you like.
Have seen multiple comments today about how I must somehow be upset because a married Peter Parker in Across the Spider-Verse.
My eyes cannot roll hard enough. :)
You guys know I wrote these, right?
I love *every* version of Spider-Man.❤️
Saw the JOKER tonight.
Loved DARK KNIGHT & WONDER WOMAN.
Thought AQUAMAN & SHAZAM were FUN.
Can't wait for HARLEY QUINN.
This isn't an Anti-DC thing.
JOKER was bad.
Real bad.
Joaquin Phoenix's performance was a GOOD thing... in a BAD movie.
Also, JOKER was a bad Joker movie.
Woke up to a world where Spider-Punk is trending. 😀
The whole reason he exists is that Olivier designed him to be our Spider-UK, I asked for a redesign— but told Olivier that I loved his design so much that we’d use it for a character all their own.
Thank you, Olivier Coipel!
Know who's nice? Tom Holland. Day I visited the Homecoming set, they were done filming all the Spidey sequences for the whole movie. But a friend had their 2 kids w/ them, so to make them happy, on a break Holland went to wardrobe put on the suit, & played around w/ em as Spidey.
10 years ago today, my first issue of Amazing Spider-Man hit the stands.
Thank you,
@Marvel
, for the best job I'll ever have.
And thank you, everyone who's supported this run.
The 40 episode run of GRAVITY FALLS has better long term secrets, mysteries, payoffs, and resolutions than anything in X-FILES, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, or LOST. Fight me.
(If you've never seen it, it's all on
@hulu
.)
My 2¢
When you're casting for She-Hulk, you shouldn't cast FOR She-Hulk.
The same way when you're casting for Hulk, you cast for the best BRUCE BANNER ...
...when casting for She-Hulk, you cast for the best JEN WALTERS.
Dear Guy who said I didn't understand a Marvel character, and then forwarded me a link to scenes of how other people wrote them better...
I wrote some of those scenes. 😸
Taking that as a compliment and signing off for tonight.👋
Way too many people online don't understand the difference between:
"This was bad."
&
"This was a bad fit for me."
Not everything needs to be for you.
There are TONS of things for you.
And things that are JUST for you.
It's ok for SOME things to be for people who aren't you.
This is getting silly.
Dear News Shows, any time a politician says the word "woke", ask them to define what they mean.
The Far Right is starting to use "woke" in the all purpose way that Smurfs say "smurf".
Seeing people disparaging Frank Miller's art on this hell site.
If all he ever produced were his 80's output on...
Daredevil
The Wolverine mini-series
The Dark Knight Returns
&
Ronin
...that alone would be enough to cement him as one of the greatest comic artists of all-time.
Someone posted to me how disappointed they were w/ the HIMYM series finale.
There IS an alternate ending.
If you choose to make that alt-ending your personal canon, then it does kinda redeem the whole last season of an on-the-whole amazing series.
Here:
I'm old enough to remember seeing THE BLUES BROTHERS in a movie theater-- and hearing everybody cheering as Jake & Elwood aimed their car right at a group like this and then gunned it.
Whenever someone tags me to say "You ruined Spider-Man" or "You don't understand Peter Parker," I look over to a note I've got taped up near my desk:
"Dan Slott and Spidey go together like ham 'n eggs!" - Stan Lee

Bitching about an ending is a God given right & a guilty pleasure.
Writing a new ending in fanfic is a gift to all.
Petitioning for different endings is creepy fan entitlement.
Being Fred Savage's character in The Princess Bride is cool.
Being Annie Wilkes in Misery is not.
Reminder:
I'm old enough to remember the outrage that the actor from "MR. MOM" was cast as Batman.
And he turned out to be an EXCELLENT Batman. For a generation he was THE Batman.
Just wait. You never know.
There's an accountant in Gotham City who's noticed every Bat vehicle, estimated how much they ALL cost, and has realized that ONLY Bruce Wayne could AFFORD to be Batman.
Superman is an earnest character who rises to unbelievable challenges, who pulls off the impossible, who believes in all of us-- and our potential-- sometimes, more than we do ourselves.
His earnestness isn't childlike.
His character isn't "cheesy".
It's his greatest strength.
I've now seen SPIDER-VERSE more times than I've ever seen a movie in its 1st run (as an adult).
I may have seen RAIDERS, STAR WARS, and ESB more times in 1st run as a kid/teen. But that was near the start of VHS. You HAD to back then.
It's easily one of my favorite movies ever.
The Vice President of the United States of America does not want to rule out the 25th Amendment in case the President becomes MORE unstable.
Think about that.
The Vice President thinks the President *is* unstable.
But would like to wait and see if he becomes *more* unstable.
The Doctor stops the Master from his latest doomsday scheme... but both are caught in the resulting blast.
2 regenerated beings emerge, their clothes burnt beyond recognition.
Both claim (or believe) they're the Doctor.
We don't let the viewers know till the end of the season.
What's one controversial thing that you would do if you were the show the runner of
#DoctorWho
for a series?
For me it would be making The Doctor being half human thing canon and exploring that a little...
