I think this is crucial fact - large increase in reported Long Covid from Omicron in highly vaxxed populations. So vaccines reduce but do not eliminate risk of long covid. Hopefully they might also make it last less long but as far as i know, little evidence on this

Endemic doesn't mean "it's a cold.' Endemic things can kill you, like malaria or smallpox (till eradication).. The goal is NOT endemicity. It should be an elimination strategy like for measles. Squashing transmission with active efforts, to lowest possible levels.

As we ‘congratulate’ ourselves on possibly emerging from a wave, so sobering to hear of the #LongCovid price paid by frontline workers - at least 1 in 13 with LC have lost their jobs, including precious trained teachers, nurses, doctors. Madness
