Saudi Arabia owns significant stakes in racing properties Formula E, Extreme E and E1 through its sovereign wealth fund according to filings seen by
@Business
, highlighting how the country "is becoming an almost ubiquitous investor across sport."
Wow, if I had a nickel for every time a NASCAR Cup driver got a promotion for doing something racist online, I'd have two nickels - which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Wait people thought that was a bad race? Are you guys just staring at your phone and not watching the intricacies of the race as it develops. Three cars running three different pit strategies finished in the camera shot on a 3+ mile road course with no caution flags. That’s great
Regarding Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, the MLS team
@NashvilleSC
says it's "concerned about the financial implications of having two similarly sized stadiums adjacent to one another and competing for the non-soccer and non-racing events both could host."
The more I look at photos like this - the number one long term haunting problem of NASCAR today will be lack of identity.
A photo in 20 years of todays field will just not hit like this with 75% of the cars running unidentifiable schemes that ran less than 10 races ever.
Here’s a moment from the ‘01 Daytona 500 that you know Dale had the biggest grin on his face seeing his drivers
@DaleJr
@MW55
&
@SteveParkee
run 1-2-3 with him being 4th.

RCR has the weirdest sponsorship model in NASCAR.
Doesn't make any sense economically for Morgan to sponsor two cars in the exact same race when there will be two Morgan cars at Richmond.
This isn't Formula One.
NEWS: Morgan & Morgan, America’s largest injury law firm, has signed a multi-year, multi-race agreement with Richard Childress Racing.

Kimi Räikkönen has finally reached the top of the motorsports ladder, making his NASCAR Cup Series debut this weekend at
@WGI
after spending many years in a development racing series called Formula 1.
I hate where the culture in NASCAR has gone.
There was so much celebration & excitement around the races in Mexico and Canada in the mid-2000s.
Now that we’ve gotten to a scheduling point where Cup can do it, it’ll just be drowned out by negativity from Couch Racers.
I hate it
The Clash will return for a third consecutive year at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. It will be Sunday, Feb 4, 2024. NASCAR Mexico Series also will race that day on the track.
@NASCARONFOX
Did the Atlanta reconfiguration work?
Watched this one with my dad an old school racing fan.
His reaction “well I’m exhausted…I need a nap after the race because I couldn’t take one during…”
People who are mad about NASCAR racing on Easter are so interesting.
Today we also have live:
NBA
MLB
Premier League
MLS
NWSL
USFL
PGA Tour
College Baseball
College Softball
Yesterday at Atlanta we got a fantastic race and viral finish because we didnt get sucked up by nostalgia & reconfigure Atlanta back to the pre97 configuration
In March we’ll get the opposite - another awful Next Gen Bristol race instead of another barn burner Next Gen dirt race
Monday Night Football kickoff time is 8:15pm ET
This race will be over before that.
This race will be over before the west coast gets off work.
“Weekday races don’t work” bc NASCAR is allergic to Prime Time.
- A Stadium Track
- Super Speedways
- Intermediate Ovals
- An Intermediate Super Speedway
- Short Tracks
- A Dirt Oval
- Road Courses
- A Street Course
- Rovals
I’m sorry but NASCAR has the coolest schedule in racing right now.
Do those that gripe about NASCAR looking completely different than it did in 1993 realize that by that measure (30 years) NASCAR in 1993 looked just as different from NASCAR in 1963?
Anybody who’s excited for this but hated The Colisuem literally just pretended to hate the event because it was in California and that is so weird to me.
Remember when Christian sites and accounts were spreading this around saying he was praying for Ryan and then he was like “actually, my nuts got smashed”
What do these three races have in common?
Each were one of the best races of their respective seasons after months of fans and media alike yelling about how they “wouldn’t work” or “would be awful for racing”.
My takeaway? It’s ok to TRY SOMETHING.
NASCAR Classics censored the Newman wreck in the 2020 Daytona 500.
Normally this is only done for fatal wrecks. For example Davey Alisons 92 Winston wreck that sent him unconscious to the hospital is played ad nauseam. This can only mean one thing. Ryan Newman died in that crash
Couch Racists when NASCAR teams have to be in Los Angeles 2 weeks before a race in Florida
vs
Couch Racists when NASCAR teams have to be in Las Vegas 1 week before a race in Florida
With the Next Gen:
The best SuperSpeedway has been Atlanta
The best Short Track has been LA Coliseum
The best Road Course has been Chicago Street
I am talking about on track product alone.
I am not joking.
I’m fine with Legacy Motor Club name and all but I do hate that we’re moving away from Petty Blue on the 43 and moving toward gold accents instead.
I loved the identity that came with this car being blue with any sponsor. Also prefer the black 3, red 21, & flamed or rainbow 24

Chicago hosts hundreds of major events a year and I legitimately have never seen comments sections full of comments like this regarding any of them.
The NASCAR fan base is incredibly embarrassing.
Hot take: I don’t think NASCAR fans are leaving because of anything on or off track. I think they’re fucking dying.
The avg age of those who identified as NASCAR fans in 2016 was 58. It’s been going up since. We just had a big pandemic affecting older folks.
Y’all claim to be longtime NASCAR fans but I can’t remember a time when the Canadian National Anthem wasn’t played at New Hampshire/Michigan/Watkins Glen they’ve been doing it for decades.
NASCAR talks about wanting to create new fans, but walk up scanners haven’t been made available since before COVID.
NASCAR owns Racing Electronics. They can make it happen whenever they want.
I can’t believe this isn’t something they invest in as far as new fan experience.
Due to high demand, rentals for the Daytona 500 are sold out. No walk-up rentals will be available.
Retail sales will be available for purchase at the track.
Pre-ordered rentals can be picked up starting on Wednesday, 2/14, early pickup is recommended.
