The Admin’s decision to reinstate the federal death penalty is a step backward. Prof. @SteveZeidman once expressed in @TheAppeal that "There are numerous people who merit clemency; who are deserving of that measure of mercy.” It still rings true today.

The fundamental role of our parole system is to allow people to repair their lives and re-enter society. We may not be used to it, but this is what justice looks like. If anything, it's far overdue.
