🚨 CAREER ANNOUNCEMENT! 🚨
I'm so happy to share that I'll be making the move to Champaign to join the
@WCIA3sports
team, the official station of the Fighting Illini. Many thanks to everyone who helped get me here, I'm so excited for this next step!
Heading home from Lexington and passing a FLEET of Johnson County Schools buses taking their seniors to see Chris Stapleton tonight - on Stapleton's dollar 🖤💛
Today marks six years since I was diagnosed with cancer.
Last year was a big one, but I'm going to celebrate every year of being healthy surrounded by the people I love.
@RexChapman
He's one of my all time favorites. I can't imagine how I would've felt as a young queer Kentucky fan knowing one of our former players was out and proud 💙
Programming Note:
June 30 will be my last newscast at WYMT. I am so grateful to have started my career at home in the Bluegrass state. My info is in my bio as I look for my next opportunity. More words to come, but thank you to the people of the 606 for two incredible years.
Thrilled to share that I will be joining the Mountain Sports team at
@WYMT
as a Sports Reporter/Anchor. I'll be covering high school sports AND the Cats in a few short weeks! Over the moon about this opportunity to tell the great sports stories that come out of the mountains.
Heading back to Lexington tonight for my six-year cancer scans. We are optimistic but appreciate all the good energy for another round of clear scans. See y'all Friday!
That was insanity. Thank you
@finebaum
, we'll do it again soon. But thank you most to
@jeremysbrewer
for five years of a passion project that's paid off.
The
#Illini
lead by eight over Northwestern midway through the third
It's also Pride Night here at SFC, and I can't describe how special it is as a queer woman to cover a P5 program that does this 🌈
Hazard we're out. Bowie and I will move home to Lexington while looking for our next move. The Queen City gave me my first job, my first cat, and my best friends. I can't thank you enough.
An entire newscast wouldn't have even been enough time to say thank you to the players, coaches, athletes and fans who supported and embraced me the past two years. EKY will live with me forever 🩵
The prep begins...
Tonight
@CamilleWYMT
and I anchor the first ever two-woman
@SportsOT
here at WYMT, something we've wanted to do since I was hired. Hope all y'all will tune in.
"Was there any doubt who the best player on the court was?"

Terrence Shannon Jr. gets to claim Braggin' Rights after his 30pt 11reb performance
An incredibly special night with Coach Underwood and 1,700
#Illini
fans and supporters of the fight against cancer.
For those who are new here, I was diagnosed with cancer nine years ago this summer. To be recognized as a survivor tonight goes beyond words. Grateful, heart full
Today marks two years at WYMT. Two years since I got my career started in the state I love and got to start telling these stories that have changed me. It has been the ride of a lifetime and I'm just. So. Grateful. 🤍
The Pink and Blue meet tonight is always one of my favorite meets to cover being a cancer survivor.
@LSUgym
takes on SEC foe Auburn tonight in the PMAC.
So it's
#worldcancerday2019
. This is what a diagnosis at age seventeen, two rounds of treatment, five surgeries, and years of struggle looks like. And I'm so, so proud to be living stable now.
A year ago today I graduated from LSU's
@ManshipSchool
. What I learned there gave me everything and brought me back home to the bluegrass, but I will always be Callin' Baton Rouge 💜
One of my favorite things about Champaign is that the local high schools will still shout "nuggets" when the opposing team shoots FTs even though no nuggets are being given away
📣 A call to action from
@makiracook
to come out and see
@IlliniWBB
play for a title tonight!
Game is at 6c at Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse, just a two hour drive for
#Illini
fans
Next week will be two months in Eastern Kentucky. I have still yet to meet an unkind person. Even if they don't know me, even if I'm in the wrong. And it doesn't ever get less special.
I love it here.
"Anyone still playing right now is really really good"
@IlliniWBB
plays for a spot in the WBIT Final Four tonight, and
@Shauna_Green
and
@genesisbryant_
say the chance to play in the month of March is bigger than just this team
Year two of high school ball complete. 50+ teams, two championship contenders, hundreds of athletes I've gotten to know and love. I still can't believe this is my job.
Was planning on having a senior night of my own tonight, but after three years my time covering
@LSUgym
is over. It's been more rewarding than I could have even imagined and I'll miss every little thing about the PMAC. Hoping it's a see you later, not a goodbye 💜💛
Merry Christmas to all y'all!!
I got the best gifts I could've asked for - my little family safe and settled in Champaign and back on the desk doing what I love
