Evidently we're going to have a debate about vaccine mandates and abortion at the same time--that is, both culture war tribes are simultaneously going to take both positions on the rights to medical privacy and "my body my choice" autonomy

If every white homeowner who bought White Fragility instead started lobbying their municipal government to abolish all prohibitions on building new multi-family housing units, antiracism would be much better served.

Abortion bans disproportionately harm: ▪️ Black, Indigenous & other people of color ▪️ the LGBTQ community ▪️ immigrants ▪️ young people ▪️ those working to make ends meet ▪️ people with disabilities Protecting abortion access is an urgent matter of racial and economic justice.

The slow pace of vaccinations is the biggest failure of American institutions in my lifetime. Bigger than the Iraq War, bigger than 9/11. The deaths pile up daily and I see nothing close to adequate urgency among federal, state, or local leaders.

Is there any conceivable Republican president who, given this Congress, wouldn't have succeeded in 1) appointing judges; 2) signing a tax cut bill? What's different w/ Trump is his unusual mendacity, cruelty, indiscipline, and posture toward the alt-right.

The article characterizes the students as "radicalized," but I think it's important to probe the possibility that this behavior flows not from earnest commitment to any cause, but rather, from social justice activism being used as a pretext to misbehave, bully and intimidate

This would reduce the supply of rental units, spike future rents, decimate new construction, and destroy the ability of people to secure mortgages. What a staggeringly shortsighted housing policy.
