I was one of the first artists in comics to convert to all digital. Trust me when I say that you loose a piece of your humanity when you do. Keep pencil to paper. Go outside and bury your hands in dirt. Walk barefoot in the grass. #backtobasics

Having trouble with page composition and panel structure? Try starting from Kirby's layouts. Like drawing the human figure, it helps to start with simple shapes. This has helped me tremendously, so I hope it can help you. :) Have a great week everybody!

Things I miss in comics: Elliot R. Brown. He gave context to the locations, weapons, and vehicles from comics, most notably for The Punisher. The Punisher Armory was not only a catalog of weapons and tools used by the character but anecdotes voiced by Frank Castle himself.

My journey as an artist revolves a lot around trying to keep the life of the quick sketch all the way through to the final art and I find it to be one of the most difficult things to do. I think this one still has that speed of thought feel to it. Do you all struggle with that?

Aesthetic choice here. I really love hand colored comics. Not painted. Colored. The next step is to try and do an actual page with backgrounds. Is it a worthy endeavor to hang on to the old ways, or should we push forward into new territory? Or both?
