In Nigeria, citizens' ignorance of the law, coupled with the complex, time-consuming legal adjudication processes, significantly contribute to the prevalence of injustice. In response to this challenge, Citizens' Gavel has created Podus AI, a chatbot accessible via WhatsApp.
We have been reliably informed by our lawyer who we sent to the State CID, Benin-City that some protesters were arrested from Ekpoma and brought to Benin yesterday. The police have refused access and legal intervention to any of them based on "an order from the top". Pls RETWEET
Dear
@jidesanwoolu
, its been almost a month that Mr Iloamuzor(the driver) was shot in Surulere.
Kindly recall that you visited his surviving wife on the 17th of October and promised that Justice will prevail but up until this moment, his autopsy has not been conducted... 1/2
There are no words I could have said to Mrs Ngozi Iloamauzor today that can make up for her loss, but as governor, I had to take responsibility.
As a human being, I was close to tears but my words to her were of strength and self care. We will work to provide justice for her.
BREAKING: Three (3) of the Abeokuta protesters that were arrested on Friday were arraigned before a Magistrate Court today. Unfortunately, they were charged with "Attempted Murder" thus, we were unable to get them out on bail as the magistrate court does not have jurisdiction...
We were in court today representing the complainant. The alleged perpetrator of this gruesome act has been charged and remanded in prison.
