Introducing Haptic: An Open Source, Local-First, Privacy-Focused Markdown Editor
Haptic is built with simplicity and essential functionality in mind. The mission is to provide everything you need and nothing you don't, right from installation.
Link and more about it β
I'll be launching the new landing page tomorrow, marking the move into public beta π
The current one lacks information, making it difficult for people to even understand what Luminar is all about.
Hopefully, this one will fix that! π€
I'm seriously impressed by
@mintlify
! I tried it out today while writing documentation for Luminar, and I'm absolutely hooked!
Within minutes, you can start writing with a fully customizable documentation that looks fantastic. Kudos to them! π
Just added this small feedback modal to the dashboard
Now, here's the question: Should I publish these as components for easy copy-pasting (the
@shadcn
way), or should I rather integrate them into the existing client SDK?
What's your preference?
β¨ Waitlist is live! β¨

It seems like people are already starting to miss the old Cron
I can't recommend Amie enough, though. I've been loving it ever since I got off the waitlist
We're truly in good hands with
@dennismuellr
:)
The all-new landing page and public beta are here! π
I'm still working on lots of exciting features, so stay tuned for even more customization options, roadmaps, help centers, and much more coming in the following weeks! π

Introducing Hub Analytics π
You can now track your weekly visitors and page views!
Stay tuned for additional user analytics coming soon to help you with feedback prioritization π
Luminar has rebranded to Feedbase!
After long consideration, I chose to rebrand Feedbase while it's still in its early stages instead of waiting until later.
Feel free to check out the changelog to learn more about the reasons behind this decision:
I've added an instruction page to the new landing page, making it easy to deploy a custom instance of Luminar on
@vercel
π
Huge shout out to
@chronark_
for his project Envshare, which inspired this page! π
Just whipped up this small component to level up the onboarding and settings UX. π
Huge thanks to
@mxkaske
for inspiring me with Openstatus's incredible Input Group component π
`InputWithAddons`: a little input component with trailing/leading content, build with shadcn/ui theme.
It's not a lot but it's honest work. And hopefully improves the UX.
Been working on a team collaboration system for Luminar today π
Almost there - just need to polish it up a bit more and implement the dashboard settings tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Got a new ultrawide monitor yesterday, and the productivity difference is mind-blowing! π€―
Used to work with two 24' monitors side by side, which was great. But switching to a Mac meant only using one of them, and it was a complete nightmare.
Good thing that time is now over!π
Been working on adding custom domain support to Luminar today
The API is ready, but I couldn't quite finish the validation UI. Hopefully, I'll get it done tomorrow to ship it π€
Now that I've completed the API access, I'm moving on to working on the SDKs. Currently, my focus is on figuring out a seamless feedback submission flow that doesn't require direct authentication
Any suggestions on achieving that, except maybe with SSO support? π€
Introducing custom theming! π
You can now fully configure and customize your hub's appearance to reflect your brand's unique personality. β¨
Check it out β
Just added Supafork as the recommended way to set up self-hosting for Feedbase π
Supafork is a small tool inspired by
@vercel
's deploy button, which allows you to "fork" a
@supabase
database with ease, making self-hosting much simpler
Check it out β
Am I the only one who, when writing new features, completely ignores clean code until the feature is done, and then refactors it to be clean? π π
Only disadvantage is that my commits usually end up being way bigger than they should have been π¬
@johnbuilds
@Sammmm249
@joshm
@browsercompany
I disagree. Toolbar is much more useful than a sidebar taking up 1/5 of your screen already in certain scenarios, in my experience at least but might also just be personal preferences.
Which filtering type is more reasonable for a multi-select filter? π€
Left: Filters items containing at least one selected tag
Right: Filters items containing all selected tags

Open Source is incredible! Just two days ago, I commented on
@steventey
's post about migrating dub to a Turborepo and mentioned considering the same for Luminar.
Guess what? Yesterday,
@jakubhavej
reached out, offering his help and even creating a PR! π π

@king__choo
@obsdmd
Obsidian is awesome and I love it, but it can become really complicated really quickly. Hapticβs goal is meant to be simple yet have all the features you need
Besides also being open-source, self hostable and having a web app
The Invitation System is done! β
Luminar now lets you invite and collaborate with your team members.
Big shout out to
@resendlabs
for making email sending super simple
Coming up next: A proper notification system (in-app & email). Stay tuned! π
I've become a big fan of
@supabase
lately. β¨
I'll admit, I was skeptical at first, thinking it was complete overkill. π
But now, I really can't deny that it saves me a ton of time.
Have you ever given it a try?π
Currently choosing an optimal launch date for Luminar. Any pro tips?
Is it as simple as choosing randomly, or should I be considering something more? π€
@nico_jeannen
@vercel
they mainly launch it with the intention of teaching and showcasing how something like that could be build and keep things simple though, so I think its fine as thereβs still a lot of space for features that are then worth paying for
@avstorm
One and a half, Mail app just sucks too much for this one awesome feature to be able to make up for everything. If they fix notifications and allow saving accounts via icloud then Im down
Chromium is, once again, acting up with random bugs out of nowhere, while Firefox is working just fine π
Oh, and in case you're wondering, my color scheme doesn't even include rgb(7, 8, 10) π«
I'm open to any ideas that might fix that π

What projects are you all working on today? π€
I'm currently wrapping up the feedback section in 's admin dashboard
Feel free to share your thoughts below! β¨
I'm experimenting with some icon concepts for a small side project I've been working on over the past two weeks π βοΈ
Let me know what you think π
Just pushed the new Discord Integration πͺ
It's a pretty simple one for now, but I'll expand it in future to support more features like creating feedback directly from Discord π
The PR is linked below for the curious ones π
I think we might need more weekly launch slots for
@devhunt_
by
@johnrushx
It's completely booked out until the middle of March π€―
Don't miss out on it in case you're working on a dev tool!
@MrNick_Buzz
ugh, at least it was early, would be much worse when already having invested much more time and for it to still not work out
incase ur looking for a dev one day, elloππ«
Whenever I try to search for usernames or names on here that I can't quite remember, I always struggle to find the right person I'm looking for. π«
The search feature should prioritise displaying accounts that either I or the people I follow are following
