Parking is an amenity. If you develop without it your project will need to account for its absence in other ways, simply lowering the asking rent may be enough. Lower housing costs was the justification for removing parking requirements after all.

Coronado based Gluten Free Baking Company moves to "trendy" #NorthPark and proceeds to complain about our long planned bikeway project and the lack of parking. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Beech Street, and not the first time Mobility Services have used the cycle track this way. Clearly there is a need for dedicated pickup/drop-off at this location. Can we Get It Done? @sdmts @CityofSanDiego @MayorToddGloria

End of a long run for @Uptown_Planners but not the community of Uptown. Looking forward to this reboot.

I just noticed that @RedwoodCU has indoor bicycle parking at their San Francisco Market St branch, conveniently and prominently placed, setting a very good example #OperationalizeEverydayBicycling

The project I've spent the last two years on just cleared DSA after perhaps the most intensive review process of my career. Please clap.

The definition of "coastal access" is not parking nor is it the ability to get there in a car. The focus on car access is just compensating for blocking access to coastal housing and the beach lifestyle.

On May 9th, @TheCACoast will take up an appeal of the Great Highway permit in San Francisco. Staff report is still unavailable but looks like there's a chance the Coastal Commision may shut down the pilot program, remove the traffic calming measures, and return the road to cars.

heroic comments from Commissioner @mcboomhower "we should take it one step further (freeway caps), and people may laugh, we should include studying whether or not we need the SR-163" #PlanHillcrest

I was almost hit three times on my my home from work. Not little mistakes but dangerous passes, a left hook, and swerving into the bike lane to avoid stopped traffic. All you lovers need to take a cold shower or something.

Approved tonight at @Uptown_Planners SRM Hillcrest - 18 stories with 418 units, of which 48 are affordable. Proof that a tall building can get the OK from our board. It is however right next to the freeway.

Great Parks in other cities across the country are taking steps to reduce vehicle access in their city parks. Opening roads to walkers, runners, cyclists, skaters, and most importantly children.

The definition of access is not parking. Cars are a luxury that should not be considered the highest priority mode of transportation.

The City of San Diego is planning to put a bike lane on Mission Blvd in South Mission Beach. Due to California Coastal Commission rules, the city could not remove parking here, so the current plan calls for painted bike lanes in the door zone.
