SecDef objects to Congress formalizing what Navies do - codified in Constitution (art1sec8), numerous policy/strategy docs - makes no sense. Our Navy has and will be called on to defend national interests in peace and war. The only ‘dilution’ of mission is diminishing the Navy.

Hey DoD/DIA - how about a briefing and an update? Over the last week Iran conducted an atk on Israel, and Israel responded(maybe?). Lots of questions and the public is running on outdated info (2019 DIA report) and no dedicated briefing.
