Tomorrow is the day I’ve been waiting 12 years, 5 months and 21 days for. Shortly before I found out I would be writing #DoctorWho for @bigfinish , I had a photo with Matt Smith at Comic Con. I know this sounds daft, but he winked at me, like he knew something... Hello, Doctor.

There was something bizarre about the way the Doctor walked into the room, saw Tegan and Ace, they stood awkwardly apart, they went into some plot exposition and then Dr Who just..left them there, in the room. I legit thought I’d missed something.

Mel in The Giggle works so much better than Ace and Tegan in TPotD. She's more involved in the main story, gets to interact and reconnect with the Doctor in a meaningful way, and is there for them during the final battle.

One idea for further humanoid Davros usage - repurpose the chair into a THRONE, like Palpatine’s. Recognisably the same, with the controls and Dalek bumps, but a chair he can rise from to step onto the bridge of his command ship, to address his Daleks/face off against the Doctor.
