Been to 100s of beach cities around the world. After a month in Santa Marta 🇨🇴, I can confidently say this is a very solid 🏝️ spot. Night wind 💨 & no Uber is only issue. But easy to make do. Great nature. Chill, but plenty of action if you want. Good prices & good people 👍

Not a bad rooftop spot in new place ! I see 100s of newer type buildings here. Probably why price was only $550 a month (pretty nice spot, block away from beach) Seems like a lot of value to be had in Santa Marta, but also very tourist focused. Big chunk are 🇨🇴 tourist too

📍 Playa de Taganga 🇨🇴 Very solid beach spot. Shocked how much they’ve kept the local vibe here for how popular it is. Any Colombians know why ? No high rises. No luxury. My kind of vibe. Also had 2 full meals of 🐟 for only $15, on the beach.

Became friends with some in the ‘king class’ of NE Brasil. Homies causally talk about their Miami apartment they go to just shop in USA. Place is really a medieval type hierarchy. Kings, nobles, huge serfdom pop & I’d classify the last group as borderline slaves.

Damn they got the water truck out here 😳 . Normal ? High % of 🇨🇴 without water ? Kinda disappointed I didn’t hit the Colombian rural areas the past 3 months. Normally, what I like best. But next time, for sure going on a real adventure.
