11 years ago today, news was leaked that UVa had found its new head coach to replace Dave Leitao. Tony Bennett was officially introduced as Virginia’s top guy on March 31st 2009. Bennett is just 50 wins away from becoming the Cavaliers’ all-time winningest coach

Tony Bennett just said on his Coach’s Corner show that Ryan Dunn was willing to pay his way onto UVa’s team as a walk-on after VA had all of their scholarship’s used up after Traudt’s commitment. His dad was so sure UVa was the right place for him that he was willing to do so

My big takeaways on UVa’s season: 1. Bryce Perkins rejuvenated this program 2. Offensive line made a HUGE jump from the beginning of the season 3. People know about Virginia football again 4. Injuries on defense prevented this team from winning 11 or 12 games
