Almost every skateboarder you know, regardless of race or ethnicity, has had at least one terrifying encounter with the police. Yes, we’ve all been lined up/had our names taken. But many of us have been cuffed or constrained, slammed into patrol cars, detained without cause, etc.

1990s Black skater here: If Uncle Clyde wants to talk for four hours, I’m gonna listen. The man is an excellent storyteller and unlike some of his contemporaries, he doesn’t obfuscate. Sobriety has done wonders for him and we should be gracious for every jewel he drops

Mason Silva is not only an amazing skater, he has terrific taste in music. Mans has a serious record collection and it shows. No anonymous punk or license-free cold wave soundtracking his skating 🙅🏿‍♂️🙅🏿‍♂️🙅🏿‍♂️
