Farewell to Jill Murphy, children's author and illustrator, known best for The Worst Witch and Peace at Last.
Jill was the much-loved creator of Mildred Hubble, Miss Cackle's Academy, and Mr and Mrs Large and their noisy elephantine offspring.
On Monday at 10am, our front door will be open again.
We're spending the weekend putting the finishing touches to the bookshop, ready to welcome you back.

On 1 January 1879, Benjamin Henry Blackwell opened the door of his bookshop on Broad Street for the first time.
144 years on, Blackwell's shop is still the place to go for books.

Entering the Guinness Book of Records as the largest bespoke room of books for sale in the world, it housed 160,000 books across almost 3 miles of shelving.
The Norrington Room was opened on this day in 1966.
Once listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the single largest room in the world selling books.
Named after Arthur Norrington, the room contains almost 3 miles of shelving.
