The comments to this tweet is the window to the truth. the mob has taken over. this country is just a large Nuremberg rally. blaming one person or two or five is too easy and a cop out. we are dealing with millions and millions of toxic zombies.

Tears well up while reading tweets under #HamareAbbaJaan .. such beautiful stories of dads and their unadulterated love :) truly feel blessed to relate so much. Love heals and saves the world. Always. It always offsets the bile and the manufactured hate.

@RandomCricketP1 Like you, my dad and I also used to watch Hockey together. Actually, all Olympic sports really. Waking up early, staying up late. Quarreling with each other because he was unrealistically optimistic about Indian sports☺ I just wanted to say this so you know you are not alone.

@DearthOfSid Similar story. A coaching center teacher used to call us “SC-ST-OBC” whenever we did not perform well. Also turned out to be a Modi supporter and still teaches at the same coaching center without any consequences for his everyday bigotry

Felt annoyed after this appeared on the feed, knowing how clueless, unmoored I was at this age. But knowing OP is a young Pakistani student, it's hard to fault this feeling. Everyone in QTs talking of PhDs at 50 etc should know a bigger world operates without safety nets,

one thing they dont tell u abt turning 23 is that suddenly its too late for everything. too late to pursue ur dreams, too late to take those risks, too late to be in love, too late to for quite literally everything. life ends at 22 and ure only left with regrets and longings

The discourse around Usha Vance from Indian American Dems is bizarre. It is not inconceivable for two law school students to fall in love and marry each other. This is not a Hindutva-Republican alliance. Sociological inquiry is great but overindexing matrimony is weird.

@ProfRavikantK a govt officer who is a classmate and “fact-oriented” brought this up recently. It’s chilling that this fake imagery of a Dalit leader making officers sit on the floor sticks even when there are *actual* images of politicians beating people, committing crimes, garlanding rapists

Several one year anniversaries are coming. One year of having felt that tingle in the throat. One year of hoping that it was just the flu. One year of sobbing at the pharmacy counter. One year of seeing dead bodies being piled in rickshaws.

This was a pet peeve but it’s just concerning at this point how the misuse / careless overuse of “Hindutva” is happening in intellectual circles. It leads to cheap and shoddy political analyses ultimately unhelpful in tackling it in an ideological way.

Rant: A very annoying thing abt some Indian left-libs is their uncritical support of Pieter Friedrice-style dog-whistling politics of finding "Hindutva" under every rock (read NRI Hindus). It's nt unusual for most first gen immigrants frm any country to have conservative views +

Horrifying that this a professor at Harvard that specializes in how economies grow. And then goes on to support the chokehold on electricity and water imposed by a nuclear state on an open air prison with children forming the majority of prisoners.

Many are upset at Israel for cutting Gaza out of electricity, water & aid. Many more are upset at Hamas killing & kidnapping Israeli civilians, including children, women & the elderly. A deal is clear: electricity, water and aid in exchange for kidnapped Israelis. Not before.

Traveling to another country on an Indian passport means months-long foresight, research (usually patchy, sometimes quora-sourced), questionable fees and constantly being fight+flight during travel. And then you discover your American friends just booked the ticket and went.

I appreciate people are upset that the institution of marriage in India reduces people to their jobs, salary, body dimensions. Although, little disdain is given to endogamy. Are you not equally upset that your humanity is reduced to your caste?

Civil services used to be one of very few escape velocities afforded to the dispossessed in India. It is now one of the many, and has extremely skewed success rates. To save millions of youth from years of misery, we need to decrease the number of attempts.

Hindi imposition has been an education policy issue and corporate India’s consolidation of languages. Now since you use Twitter why don’t you tag Blinkit and ask them to explain their policy? Why harass a person who got a job that stipulated fluency in only Hindi and English?
