Meet Darlington Chigwena, a second year student at the University of Zimbabwe. He was arrested on 23 May 2023 and denied bail. He has been in pretrial detention for 61 days. His continued incaceration is a travesty of justice. We call on authorities to uphold the right to bail.

Gamuchirai Chaburumunda is the sixth University of Zimbabwe student to be arrested in the past four weeks. The other 5 students who were arrested are Darlington Chigwena, Benjamin Watadza, Emmanuel Chitima, Comfort Mpofu and Lionel Madamombe. All the five have been denied bail.
