Ottawa councillor @dianedeans speaks of the abhorrent behaviour from protesters, says everything is being down to de-escalate the situation and notes the large trucks can used as weapons. This begs the question, why did the officials allow the trucks to enter the downtown core?

This is not true. @MaximeBernier has commented on incidents in other countries. Around the world, and at home, ppl of all faiths should be able to worship freely and peacefully. Bernier’s justification for his unwillingness to call out violence against Muslims is deeply troubling

Some journalists have no decency. Did this one harass me or anybody else when dozens of Christians were massacred in Nigeria and the Philippines weeks ago? Why not? As a rule I don’t comment on these horrible tragedies in other countries. Period.

Exaggerating what political opponents are saying is not helpful to building a cohesive society. There is enough to criticize the government on (including the Liberals’ strategy in the last election), no need to further divide society to make political points.

. @theJagmeetSingh says the fact RCMP talked down the man who showed up at Rideau Hall with guns and may have tried to kill the prime minister is a symbol of systemic racism. If the man was a person of colour, Singh tells reporters, he thinks the RCMP would have shot him.
