This week we say cheerio to a service legend, as GC Albert Bruce retires. Albert held a number of roles within the area over the years before moving to a national water safety role. A tremendous officer with a real desire to develop others. A career to be extremely proud of 👏 👏

Happy retirement to WC Dougie Black, who finished his last shift this morning with Amber Watch, Oban. Dougie started his career with Oban RDS, before moving to Wholetime at Cowcaddens and Yorkhill, before returning to his home town. All the best for the future 👏👏 🚒

Former captain of the @Scotlandteam and player with @Lionsofficial , Rob Wainwright has served as a Vol Firefighter for approaching 20 years. Having been a hugely influential team player, joining the local crew was the “natural thing to do” when moving to the island of Coll.

It was a proud evening for the crew at Tobermory, as they recognised the phenomenal service of WC Iain Noble at his final drill night. After 42 years Iain hung up his fire kit for the last time. A true fire service legend. Best of luck for the future Iain 👏 👏

It started with a pilot in Lochgilphead, and progressed to 10 stations from Dunoon to Iona. It provided local access to PCR testing for thousands of people in some of the remotest communities. Today it concludes, and thanks to every one of our personnel who made it happen.

Tobermory Fire Station last week, with a full crew of female firefighters representing and protecting their community.  Vanessa, Kelly, Alison, Katherine and Lee. Female firefighters now make up a third of Tobermory's personnel and bring great diversity and skillset to the unit.
