Joey Gallo had this lineout last night with a 112.5 mph exit velocity and a 22° launch angle. Since Statcast started tracking, there have been 132 balls hit between 112-113 mph and 21-23°. 121 of the other 131 were home runs. Gallo's is the first one ever to be an out.

Everyone knows Michael Kopech throws insanely hard. Now, we know he also has elite spin rate. In his 1st inning, Kopech's 4-seamer averaged *2,629 rpm.* MLB average is 2,262 rpm. Justin Verlander, the highest-spin starter, is averaging 2,613 rpm. He's gonna get a lot of whiffs.

Jacob deGrom threw his first complete game in a Cy Young season. The final at-bat -- a game-ending groundout from Nick Williams: Pitch 106: 98.3 mph Pitch 107: 99.0 mph Pitch 108: 99.1 mph (groundout) Those were, successively, his three fastest pitches of the game.
