Hollywood I'm begging you to realize Voice Actors exist and no kid goes to see a movie because some celebrity's name is slapped on it. I didn't beg my parents to see a movie because Jack Smallman voiced rat
#2
I begged to see it because I wanted to see the cartoon rat
Drawing a character doing horrible things doesn't mean endorsement. Acting as a horrible character doesn't mean endorsement. Voicing a horrible character doesn't mean endorsement. If you're equating real people to fictional characters unplug and please learn to disassociate them.
it sounds boomer but I wish younger crowds could experience this kind of fun. streaming has its place but there's something special about bumpers, blocks, and events networks were able to have on cable. it made kids feel a part of something bigger than hitting "play next episode"
I got a feeling bigger studios are going to start wondering why no one will pitch ideas to them anymore. Like nah, I'm not giving you my idea so you can cancel it 10 episodes in and keep the rights, lmao
seeing Marvel realize why people use pilots, showrunners, creative throughlines, narrative outlines, ect BEFORE filming an entire series and wondering why it flopped after wasting millions in post production turned my body into a tumor
If you need any more proof animation should be paid what they're owed and taken seriously by execs look at how much people are freaking out over Spiderverse 2 right now. That and the fact we saved your corporate butts from bankruptcy over the pandemic. No biggie.

, Nightshade is a new tool that artists that will be able to use that poisons the datasets and models of genAI that scrapes work without consent.
You wanted to know how we fight back? This is how.
It's weird seeing randos say
"BuT tHe ShOwS tOdAy SuCk! WhY dO tHe WrItErS dEsEaRvE mOrE pAy?"
First of all, class solidarity is important instead of licking boot. Second, if a show is bad 9/10 it's some fat cat in charge interfering. Even more reason to support the strike
AWWWWWW YEAHHHHH! NEW EPISODES OF

COMING AUGUST 17TH! Watch em' on

when they drop, but in the meantime catch up on the first 10 episodes!
Not all media is a fluffy cloud and shouldn't be homogenized into a safe unchallenging blob. Make bleak, terrible stories. Make characters who are miserable or soulless monsters. To overlook context and assume in bad faith the creator is endorsing those things is asinine.
Storyboard Tip!
Make sure you keep the drawings loose and expressive! But not too expressive. If you see their eyes start to lock with yours immediately close the program and unplug the monitor. When you reopen the file and see them missing it's too late.
I'm tired of seeing people in selfish attempts to look like paragons of virtue attack others under that false narrative. There are obvious and legitimately bad people making and supporting what you claim to fight. But stabbing the lamb is easier to some than slaying the lion.
You know who doesn't get enough love in animation? Compositors. Those people can take something pretty good looking and make it look next level. Hell, I remember seeing the before and afters on Glitch Techs and was amazed
This is why archiving and pirating for the sake of preservation is good. Rip shows and save them if you're able because for some reason every company head has been chugging moron juice. Followed streaming off a cliff with zero plans and now actively dumpster shows and movies 🏴☠️
Just found out December 15th Final Space will be gone off Netflix international. So that's it, after that it's gone everywhere. I'm not giving up though, into the fray we go! -Olan
Also the big difference people forget about dark characters or topics is glorification and CONTEXT. If it comes off as you fetishizing or glorifying a bad character/action then red flags ahoy. Charisma can make someone like Loki look fun, but they don't glorify his actions for ex
My goal in life when it comes to my art and storytelling isn't to become someone famous or big. I want to create work that touches people, that some random person can point to and say, "They get me!" I want to tap into real emotion. And the idea of failing to do that horrifies me
Can the nerd community let black women enjoy things too? Like I keep seeing talented as hell cosplayers, voice actors, and artists get harassed by dweebs and it's omega levels of cringe. I'm sorry you're too fragile that an Uraraka with some extra melanin sets you off. Calm down.
They'll be randos who will try and break every thing I say down into some deep underlying meaning, but that's twitter. Point is, don't attack others for mundane reasons like, "they voiced a scumbag." If they voiced a scumbag then afterwards acted like a scumbag that's different
Yo, also this thread was started about a VA being insulted over a role. Please don't just make kneejerk assumptions I'm defending something vile or immoral. It's incredibly insulting and in bad faith. Jesus.
Ah of course it was a mistake. Sorry to bother you...
But just one more thing...you claim you understand the threat gen AI has against real artists but I glanced at your website and noticed you still have classes for midjourney listed...
🇬🇧 GOBELINS Paris shared a student project yesterday.
The publication featured several visuals created with the help of an AI. Many people expressed their disappointment at seeing artificial work published on our networks. We're not unaware of recent controversies associating AI…
If you read any opinion from Disney execs about how 2D animation is "limited" or whatever it's absolutely cope. Most of the people who'd want to do cool visuals and styles can't override the boring leadership. If you want proof go watch that Frozen 2 documentary
@tanijrou
I love how brutally graceful they made her. It makes it so much more creepy that it's still acting like Falin would but with all that monster energy

I'm very biased, but I'm just as much a fan as everyone else. Poppa
@netflix
you got a gem of a show with a crew who'd love to finish what they started!
Oh yeah glitches! Catch the first 10 episodes on Netflix on Feb 21st, you won't regret it!! Completely unbiased opinion (─‿‿─)

Who cares? If parents are that checked out that they need some celeb to take their kid to a movie then it shouldn't matter. Watch the movie. If you want to see Billy Pickledick then go watch a movie starring him instead of hearing him half-ass a vocal performance
Yo
@netflix
what's this "cutting edge visual technology" you're quoted talking about? It wouldn't be something potentially rage inducing to the entire fan base would it? 🙃🙃🙃
Note: according to Netflix, "This One Piece" is "a new anime adaptation starting from the iconic East Blue saga [...] utilizing cutting-edge visual technology to reimagine Luffy's adventures"
Official synopsis + staff recruitment:
tv binge culture is a stupid model and shouldn't have been pushed into the default. that empty feeling you get after going through a few years of hard work in one night is you longing for it to last over a few months in weekly drops. they ruined that hype and anticipation
@NetflixJP
I'm going to actively tell others not to support this. Pay your animators and stop using AI as a cheap way to replace actual talent
私はこれをサポートしないように積極的に他の人に言うつもりです。 アニメーターに支払い、実際の才能を置き換える安価な方法としてaiを使用するのをやめます
Bro I'm begging anyone in the government to close the tax writeoff loophole or this will keep happening. Pieces of shit like Zaslov don't care about film or TV or anything media related. Either stop allowing them to writeoff completed works or if they do force them to release it
‘COYOTE VS ACME’ is now expected to be shelved and deleted forever.
Warner Bros wanted $75M - $80M for the film and rejected offers from Netflix, Amazon & Paramount, refusing to let them counter-offer.
