If a melee pops all their cd's in dragonflight, you better do the same as a Tank or they'll die from threat. Then on the next pack when one of the other 2 dps pops all their cooldowns, you just don't tank. Buff tank threat
@WarcraftDevs
man there are so many cringe people going after the zskarn dev in some discords. Ok yea he made a mistake, so what. Now you have to play the fight properly because you were too bad to kill it before the cheese gets fixed, maybe work on improving yourself instead of blaming him?
please stop telling people how to hide lua errors. Tell them to install bugsack&buggraber instead. You need to know what is causing issues in your UI. I see this all the time on beta and it's a really bad habit to just hide and forget about them.
Decided to quit progress raiding. The time being forced to do unfun content is just not worth the enjoyment from raiding anymore. I'll still play the game, do weakaura stuff and whatever else I can enjoy in the game, just not forcing myself to do things I don't enjoy.
to absolutely no ones surprise the "healer should play a big part in keeping the tank alive" design philosophy has failed miserably. Severe class changes need to happen for this that would make the game worse as a result. Just embrace tanks as the main characters of this game.
Here it is. Personally never liked the layout of M+ Addons + they had some minor bugs here and there, so I decided to make my own. It's rather hard to test all possible scenarios with this so I hope I've gotten it bug-free by now.
I'm moving at the end of the month & only getting internet a week or so later so making post about this now. My Raid Auras are fully updated based on beta/journal changes etc. You can already import them for heroic week.
please make raid drop like 2-3 times the amount of crests man. If I do for some reason decide to start another alt I do not want to do 50 m+ just to get my crests. It's already ridiculous that I don't cap crests by doing a full clear but whenever you're behind it's even worse.
Here's a
@WeakAuras
I made to track how many healthstones/healing potions everyone in your raid has currently available, anchored to their raidframes. Was a request from
@maximumwow
and I thought it sounds really useful and prob gonna use myself too:
Do not buy import strings for addons. Get them elsewhere / share with people you know. They are breaking ToS by selling them so there is nothing morally wrong to go around that.
I haven't actively watched the previous Races so I was pretty much neutral in who I want to win before I got asked to help with weakauras. But seeing how Limit operates, plays and just the general super positive vibes during progression was a very nice experience.
Seeing people in multiple discords already calling this a failure or a "basically nothing" patch. Can you be any more negative? These people not even playing it before judging and even if it isn't of interest to you it still looks like a massive W to the game as a whole.
Honestly people should stop using abbreviations for every spell in the game. Do it when you talk with people that play that spec all day / for a long time etc. but don't do it in a public channel or information/guide posts. It just makes it terrible to read
very rare items almost feels like a worse version of titanforging. Instead of missing out on the rng +15 proc on your bis item you can go a whole tier without ever seeing the item drop, partly down to those bosses having 2 slots reserved for tier tho
Everytime I go to a class discord and I see people abbreviating every ability in the game that exists I'm giga lost. Doesn't matter if I played the class for the last 10years, that's just not how I remember abilities.
I was not expecting much from this season but the amount of bugs and lack of any meaningful class balancing makes this the worst content release in recent memory imo. SL fated felt better than this
I genuinely wish add-ons were removed from WoW & the base UI was improved.
The add-on arms race is such a massive barrier to entry for new players.
It also destroys the game from a spectator PoV and I think it is one of the reasons people enjoy watching Classic so much more.
>buy recipe for 4.5M
>give someone a 30k discount on the initial cost to craft it
>they decline "it's only one click you have to do" "I don't care how much you paid for the recipe" "People do this for free hahahahaha"
some people man 💀
Here's a collection for most of the relevant progress weakauras. I'm not sharing everything in there like dozens of personal alerts, interrupt aruas that you can find on wago already etc. No gurantee all of these work crossrealm/non-english client. GL
just let me buy essence with wow tokens at this point, wouldn't mind blizzard profiting of this aslong as I don't have to do old/unenjoyable content :)
Blizzard: "we're nerfing bdk"
Community: "you can nerf them, but nerf them in this specific way we're telling you"
Blizzard: "ok sure"
Community few months later: "wtf bdk is so op"
M+ isn't harder than Raiding. Raiding isn't harder than M+. neither is harder than pvp and pvp isn't harder than either of them. Each of them are their own thing, why people even compare? (it being the same dungeons 3 seasons in a row makes it very boring tho)
I wonder if wow really is as newcomer unfriendly as people always say. Been playing league again recently (god forbid me) and I feel like nothing can be worse for new players than that game where you have to learn 200 champions and their 5000 skinned abilities
really hope they rework how raidbuffs work for next expansion. I get that there should be a reason to bring every class but I rather have that be done through utility on different bosses than raidbuffs that hardlock you into 80% of your comp
Surprised how relaxed a lot of guilds take s4 tbh. It's a great opportunity to test your roster, work on communication, researching strats/logs etc. I agree on not having the same raiding hours but you should still work on everything else as a normal tier imo.
For s2 m+ testing I will be looking for people to join my group that want to go through all these dungeons super slowly. Literally stopping dps / letting casts go through etc. I want to gather spell data and at the same time understand every spell in detail.
they should restrict tank trinkets to only be usable by tanks so that they can then design them to be really good at dps and survivability at the same time and not having to worry about other specs using them. (Shamelessly stolen idea btw) Maybe do same for healers idk
man handynotes is such a good addon. You always forget about it for 90% of the expansion but when content like this comes out I'm so glad that people spend the time figuring out spawn locations, which chests belong together etc. etc. I'd be going crazy without
All these people always arguing for "don't design the game around the top 1%" but then they want to remove addons while >99% of the playerbase only benefits from addons and any possible negatives only exist in the high end competitive play of pve and pvp. I don't get it
Giga long and detailed Jailer Guide. Weak point is probably p2 Blood soakers but should be good for Tanks, Melee and just strat in general. I suck at video editing but seeing a lot of guilds struggling to find the details so wanted to make this
idk about having 3 full raid tiers being relevant at the same time, sounds a bit too much. Would rather have just one old raid recycled or selected bosses.
I wish wow had better tooltips. Class Abilities should be explained in a way that you can fully understand them without needing to test / look it up in a guide. Let me manually enable advanced tooltips if you don't want to clutter it for new players.
Plunderstorm might have seen more tuning in 48 hours than brew in dragonflight (to be clear I am obviously not saying it is bad that this mode gets attention, I just wish tank tuning would get more)
secret dungeon aura pack:
Only gonna add auras as I do the dungeons so right now there's only the 2 tested m+ dungeons in there and some stuff from court of stars, also mostly making these for myself so might not fit everyone's need but yea they exist.
The amount of random whispers and wild shit I read online from people thinking I'm still exploiting something to get a 405 weapon. Best read is always the "competitive" wow reddit 👍
Gonna get asked this a lot: No Auras until WF happens. Not necessarily because it's giving away stuff(generic auras wouldn't do that) but mainly so I don't have to worry about it during the race. Use causese's instead and if you want can switch later.
why is my bdk alt, on who I just press buttons, socket and enchant randomly and generally have not looked into min/maxing dmg at all, basically doing the same dmg as my almost bis geared brew where I need to play piano on my keyboard and use all my brainpower to do the rotation?
@WarcraftDevs
Any chance that dungeon ports are getting accountwide (maybe after an expansion ends)? Always a bit sad when you don't have them after switching mains, especially with a new class coming they won't have the chance to get any of the old M+/CM ports.
Afflicted is a giga chill affix, only issue is that some classes can't interact with it at all. It's fine when some classes are better or worse at doing an affix, but them not being able to do anything about it at all shouldn't be a thing I think.
Why does dk have two off-gcd offensives while monk has 5 different offensives on the gcd that you all have to put in your opener? The bfa gcd philosophy still remains as a big mistake in my eyes.
Amazing race. GG to everyone. Both guilds played well, good tuning on bosses from blizzard. While there's always a few bad things about the tier (specifically generals bugs this time) it was overall still a really good raid tier, enjoyed this one.
Real money sales are being advertised through calendar invites and there is no way to report them, blocking is pointless because they have a new character every time anyway. Started happening the moment I transferred my char to alliance, very annoying.
probably not a popular opinion but I did not like rotating all 8 dungeons every season. It meant we always start with dungeons in a rather unbalanced state. I prefer keeping them for longer so by season 2/3 they're actually enjoyable. Maybe only rotate a few instead of all 8?
Ny'alotha Weakaura is ready for initial US raiding. If you're using my package and are streaming day1 heroic please let me know with a link and enable vod's so I can watch back anything. I expect quite a few changes since ptr.
@Rogerbrownn
I'm sorry for the situation you guys are in. I fully believe that the majority of method raiders had no clue about what was really going on and that it was an honest mistake to trust josh. I wish you guys all the best to process all this and recover from it.
if this means they are actually buffing baseline abilities by a lot this could be fine but somehow have a bad feeling about it. Just make great tank/healer trinkets instead and restrict dps from wearing them and we'll want to wear them anyway (Fyrakk tank trinket was a good one)
44% of my ST dmg is coming from trinkets/procs not even related to my class. This is the case for pretty much all tank specs. I would much prefer my own abilities to do dmg
it's soooo unintuitive that in almost all cases you don't even want to use rank 3 mats. You just use rank 2 and as you need inspiration procs anyway, the outcome stays the exact same. Really big noob trap as a consumer who never tried profession themselves.
pvp cosmetics the casual will never get or care about -> never heard a single person complaining.
A new fun battle royale mode that rewards you with cosmetics -> "They are forcing us to do it😡"
Personally don't see an issue with bosses being nerfed the way they are but I would prefer if there was an option to turn off the nerfs and have the achievements only be tied to killing unnerfed versions. You can still farm your loot on the nerfed versions then.
Best thing about new API/Addon updates breaking stuff is people getting exposed for using code from the stone age and being stubborn about using a better solution.
If you're going to 1:1 copy my auras into your pack and add 10% of your own stuff(which is likely just taken from another author), how about giving credit? (If you make a collection for friends/guilds, set it to hidden or link to original auras)
don't get me wrong, the idea of recycling old content while waiting on a new expansion is great, but maybe it should be older raids and not those that we've just finished? Thinking more like Nighthold, ToT, SoO kind of raids.
how do people quickly gear a char to do mythic raid these days? I'm just throwing my gold at boe's / m+ carrys. idk how you are supposed to catch up with 402 time rift gear or 395 forbidden reach (also gl killing rares solo in the caverns to get crests)
For anyone wanting to upgrade the dk legendary next week and thus needing a lot of flightstones (more than the cap): You can bank 750 flightstones in containers by spending the 15 Keg-Stamped Coins you get from Renown 5 in Plunderstorm here:
people putting "DRAGONFLIGHT ALPHA" in their streamtitle and then playing retail or whatever the entire stream and doing that every day is the weirdest shit to me. Sure it's just stupid clickbait people do everywhere, but does that actually work? I just instantly click off.
