Port Fourchon submitted data from the Laney Chouest. A peak gusts was recorded at 194 knots, 223 mph. This was at a height of 100’ and an instantaneous gusts so there will be some reduction. Ida post-analysis will look at this for Cat 5 designation.

The saltwater wedge has jumped the sill built at the bottom of the river and the toe of saltwater is within about 10 miles of the Belle Chasse/Braithwaite water intakes. Next would be St. Bernard. The Army Corps will try to raise the sill next week to slow things. #lawx @FOX8NOLA
