🚨 Latest figures show 27% of criminal cases get postponed on the day of trial. 📈 Up from previous quarter and continuing a worrying, long-term trend. ⏳ This means added delay and uncertainty for victims, amid a record Crown Court backlog. ⚠️ We owe it victims to do better.

I welcome moves to make it easier for police to issue stalking orders. Early intervention is key to protect victims. Too often, the bigger picture is missed, with a focus on isolated incidents instead of the pattern of abuse. I hope new guidelines will improve the response.
