It's hard for MCU fans to accept, but Spider-Man Lotus is 100% more faithful to the racism of the '60s and '70s in the original AMAZING SPIDER-MAN comics
It's funny how Miles Morales has more experience as Spider-Man than any version of Spider-Man 2099...
Because they can't progress past the 12 months set in 2099.
Taking "Batman won't kill," and saying "I'll put him in a situation where he has to!"
When there's so many comics showing how he'll just refuse anyways. 😭
The Batman: Brave and the Bold casting director pulling up DC wiki and realizing they have to find a half-White, quarter-Arab, quarter-Chinese 10 year old
Sources at The Hollywood Reporter have revealed that Henry Cavill's original contract with DC was to play Superman for 19 years.
Search up "Henry Cavill 19" for more information.
Robert Pattinson for CBR:
“We’ve talked a little bit about Superman in this world. Me and Matt, yeah, we think it’d be fun. I read some of the Earth-2 comics, like the new ones, and I really like the Val-Zod character.”
The Flash movie tie-in establishing that Barry Allen's new suit is from Bruce Wayne and Alfred and also he's being trained by them makes him such a weak adaptation of the character
How do you guys feel about James Gunn filming Superman: Legacy in Atlanta instead of Metropolis?
I think Zack Snyder would’ve filmed on location. This feels like MCU influence.
I feel like Twitter gets caught up on Amazing Spider-Man controversy so much that the Miles Morales book doesn't get any discussion.
Haven't seen anyone mention Hobgoblin's appearance in Miles Morales: Spider-Man, but they were having a straight-up anime fight.
X-Men ‘97 turning Sunspot’s story of facing explicit anti-Blackness into a coming out allegory is awful.
Why? To make Roberto’s arc more clean? To not have to address an actual reality of life? Or because a White dude voicing a Black man’s pain is wonky?
Gotham Knights releases THIS MONTH in just 19 days!
Just a reminder that every cutscene plays differently and is tailored to which Knight you’re playing as.
“What story is there to tell?” Well that’s an easy one: in the film Slade holds a personal vendetta against Batman who is responsible for the death of his son. He tears apart Bruce Waynes life until there is nothing left.

People praise Superman and Lois way too much imo. It's got good characterization, but Marvel shows like Daredevil have raised the bar very high and S&L doesn't come close
Comics Explained not understanding that the COMICS tie Sunspot's origin to him being ATTACKED for being BLACK (and specifically his skin color) wasn't on my bucket list today.
X-Men '97 completely butchered Sunspot's origin, btw.
Instead of being publicly hatecrimed (his dad present) for being a BLACK man, thus activating his powers, Roberto da Costa is now actively hiding his abilities from his parents in this adaptation.
...Because of course.
Oh, hey, someone spoke to Chris Claremont recently at a convention and asked him about his feelings on Sunspot being whitewashed!
He says he wrote him intentionally as Afro-Brazilian, and it seems that Roberto turning fully Black when he uses his powers is commentary on that‼️
They said Dick Grayson being retconned as Romani got retconned and now they’re trying to retcon it back in again 💀
Need to stop being disingenuous with that man and let him be what he is: WHITE
Someone tell me if I'm wrong about how time works in Miguel O'Hara's future. I'd hope to be wrong, because dude is stuck as the least experienced Spider-Man. 😭
@VicEntity
Uh... '97 is... Just as bad.
Being attacked for being black is an intrinsic part of Roberto's backstory that activates his powers, which BEING BLACK when using his abilities is commentary of.
Which the show erases.
And he's played by a White Brazilian.
I’m sick of
@MarvelStudios
and
@DCComics
pandering. Now we have a black Superman, a black Wonder Woman, a Black Batman, a Black Robin, a black Captain America & now there’s talk of a black Green Arrow. Meanwhile, original black characters are being forgotten. Pandering assholes.
Don’t misconstrue this tweet with wishing any harm on the creators or them not getting their due rewards…
But there are many more books out there that actually WON’T get this backing and support that deserve it.
Like… Past the first issue… Ultimate Black Panther?
"GUYS WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE THIS ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN BOOK BY JONATHAN HICKMAN STARRING THE ICONIC CAUCASIAN PROTAGONIST OF THE BRAND FOR 60+ YEARS SELLS WELL"
Funny thing about Jason Todd is that he really doesn’t have a generation.
He’s vaguely younger than the original Teen Titans, but he doesn’t have his own set of characters that match him in age.
I’m ngl the Nightwing team stated they only included characters in that cover who were in the run is crazy considering Damian Wayne only appeared in one panel.
And why not just like… Include Duke in the run?
And the *coming out* allegory IS important.
But not to the detriment of Sunspot’s original character arc, one of the few Black men in the mythos who can convey our actual experience in life.
There’s so many mutants that can do what the show did with him. I mean… Iceman?
