Please let’s get this clear! There is no such thing as “Igbo Muslim” a Muslim is a Muslim regardless. That been said, As Muslims, Shari’ah comes first before any other Law, be it traditional or otherwise. Islam is Islam irrespective of who the Muslim is. Shari’ah is sacrosanct!

An ideal Islamic Wedding should not cost a thing. The intending couple should get their Wali from both sides and let the Aqdu Nikkah be conducted and then a light refreshments (Walimah) and let the newly wedded go home and start their life. This is the Shari'ah requirement.

I study in ABU Zaria. I can count reasonable number of churches and Chapels inside the campus but goto UNN or even Unizik in Awka. You can barely see any mosque there in the campus and later you will open your mouth & spew nonsense about the North not been religious tolerant.
