These are the improvements in educational attainment whilst at uni
USW has become the first in Wales to invest in a state-of-the-art child manikin. Used to teach student nurses, the manikin of a five-year-old mimics many of the behaviours expected from a young child when they are undergoing treatment in hospital
Our scientists have developed a simple, quick and cost-effective diagnostic test for Covid-19. The test is designed to support frontline health workers, prevent further spread and enable them to quickly return to work.
UPDATE: In view of severe weather predictions, all University of South Wales campuses will be closed on Thursday 1 March. Please check the USW website, social media, The Hub and Unilife for further updates on whether campuses will open on Friday and Saturday.

Dr Ben Calvert has been announced as the new Vice-Chancellor of USW.
Ben, who is currently USWβs Deputy Vice-Chancellor, will take over the role from Professor Julie Lydon who retires later this year.
In April our student nurses joined the NHS frontline to fight the coronavirus pandemic and now they have a message for you.

All campuses closed on Friday and Saturday. Weβll have staff onsite to maintain essential services for students living on campus. But the weather is forecast to deteriorate further and we want students and staff to stay safe, so please do not travel in.
From September, weβll be introducing a blended learning approach, which combines a blend of online and on-campus delivery. It will ensure that students receive good experiences, interaction with other students and academics, and high-quality education π
