Texas A&M and Texas Tech are the exact same school, except one is in East Texas and one is in West Texas. They are virtually tied in the recruiting rankings right now. Both only have a single 10 win season since 2000. Both have student bodies who didn’t get into UT.

Sam Ehlinger was the unquestioned leader of Texas football from 2018-2020. 2021 was a transition year, including a new coaching staff. That won’t be a problem in 2022. Roschon Johnson has filled that leadership void. And I think he is going to lead the Longhorns to greatness. 🤘🏼

Texas defense ranks 23rd in the country, after finishing 86th in the country in 2021. Todd Orlando’s defense went from 14th in Year 1, to 44th in Year 2, to 68th in Year 3. PK is trending in the right direction. Just gotta let him keep working- continuity and stability are key.

All things considered, a 9-4 season and a Top 5 recruiting class heading into Year 3 would put Texas right on track. The program is healthy. Longhorn fans still have PTSD from Year 3 under Herman going from Top 10 preseason to 7-5, and rightfully so. Sark will have to prove it.

Between his playing days at St. Edward’s, his first coaching job at Bowie High, and a long stretch on Rick Barnes staff from 2002-2011, Rodney Terry has spent nearly 20 years of his life in Austin. He understands and knows UT and the state of Texas. That is a huge asset.
