Yes, this morning! Can’t make up such irresponsible and careless driving like this! District 3 Trooper Bardsley stopped this car for 94 mph on I80 in Pott County with partially covered roads and blowing snow. Excuse: just not paying attention to speed because it’s snowy! 😡

Busy Saturday night for District 3 State Troopers—-separate speeding citations of 101mph,105mph and 123 mph. Then a violator tried to elude ISP and was locked in at 137mph in 70 zone before crashing his car & to top of the night a drunk driver that blew a .341! @iowastatepatrol

District 3 Trooper this weekend stopped this car in a 65 zone on I29/I80 in Council Bluffs! These speeds must stop! This driver admitted to 136mph at one point... 2 hours late for work and "wanted to see how it ran." DEADLY, NEGLIGENT, AND IRRESPONSIBLE is all you can say!

Iowa State Patrol pursuit through 3 counties with semi leads to arrest of Minnesota man with arrest warrants in 4 states.... after fleeing for 30+ miles at speeds as high as 90 mph the front drive tires were able to be deflated to bring this pursuit to an end safely!!!!

Even though road conditions on I-80 are improving..... please be careful on your State highways( Hwy 25 south of I-80)and secondary county roads(Adair County)..... as you see the blowing snow and wind are causing low visibility! As the evening comes be aware of reference spots!!

The DOT plow trucks are doing an amazing job in western Iowa clearing the roads…problem is… this blowing snow is no blowing across the roadways causing ice pack on the lanes. You can’t go normal speed when wet and hit an ice patch and expect to maintain control. Still slow down

State Trooper stops car for 106 in 70mph zone in Fremont County..this speed is bad enough but young innocent kids in the car being put in danger tops this stop! Please, Please slow down and think about those passengers your are responsible for while you’re behind the wheel

Dense fog in Adair Co. Please make sure your headlights are ON, increase following distance and pay extra attention to those who might not have their headlights or taillights on! Lastly, DON’T Pass in the fog… the risk is not worth the reward of being a few minutes early!

With freezing rain, drizzle and wintery mix over the next couple of days! BE PREPARED…to turn ON your headlights so you can be seen, ICE ( the stuff you sometimes can’t see) buildup on windshield and more importantly the roads. Slow down, leave early, 4x4 doesn’t matter on ice!

**** Speed Project**** Iowa State Patrol On 10/30/20 the Iowa State Patrol will be conducting a speed project utilizing IPS aircraft on I-29 from Council Bluffs to the Missouri Border! In 2020 troopers have issued 144 tickets for 25+ and 80 citations for speeds over 100mph

A 2006 study from Virginia Tech Transportation Institute found almost 80% of crashes and 65% of near crashes involved some sort of driver inattention in 3 seconds prior to the crash! Imagine what that number might be in 2022 with even more distractions you must fight to avoid?
