Illinois Gov. J.B Pritzker says his staffers have been in contact with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's staffers, whom he described as being "wholly uncooperative." He says, "What the the governor of Texas is doing is disgusting and it needs to stop."
The 300,000 masks the White House sent Illinois were the wrong ones.

"Anyone who thinks they can come into this state and try to force some right-wing, MAGA, war on a woman's body, you will never get an inch of Illinois," Pritzker says in his victory speech. His GOP challenger Darren Bailey hasn't conceded yet.
Mayor Pete says he is asked 10x more often how he'll earn the black vote, than how his policies would benefit African-Americans: "It's as if I'm being asked more about how to win, than how to deserve to win."

Pritzker: "We want looters to go to prison, to jail. We want to make sure that we're catching people who are lighting fires or causing any violence, but the vast majority of people who are out there in Washington DC & here in Illinois are standing up for peaceful protest..."

"The situation that we're in today is one which requires a leader who will stand up and meet the challenge, by the way of addressing police accountability, making sure that we're standing up for peaceful protest," Pritzker says.
I wrote an op-ed about how opioid addiction took over my mom's life to give people with chronic pain a voice. After decades of being prescribed painkillers, she hit rock bottom when doctors prescribed her Fentanyl patches. Here's her story:

Some directives in place for Greek churches because of coronavirus. No kissing the icons at church today. Also my priest handed us bread with a ladle. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Inside Rahm Emanuel's whisper campaign to get into the Biden Cabinet: "I don't think the transition is answering his calls," a key player in Democratic Chicago politics said. "Knowing Rahm, he's trying to will it."

Illinois in 2019 established in state law the right to reproductive health care, including abortion - a measure put in place should Roe v. Wade be overturned. Pritzker in Dec. also signed a law stopping minors from having to give parental notification before having an abortion.
Dr. Ngozi Ezike has been at every one of these Illinois briefings — and she's also translating in Spanish. She's been an honest voice for the state every single day. And has shown emotion as the

battle intensifies. More on her here:

"To the fake patriots and their enablers, you don't love the United States if you're not willing to defend it against a man who would destroy it," Pritzker says.
Now that I live in Chicago again (where giardiniera is in every store), I’m allowed to make chicken giardiniera in the crockpot. Literally chicken, a little water and a whole jar of hot giardiniera.
