I’ll just say it: We’d be hard pressed to find a more relevant or newsworthy topic than what we’re going to talk about today. Israel. Hamas. And the war in Gaza. The rise of antisemitism. The protests on college campuses all over North America.
With me to do that is…

What is the objective of COVID public policy in Canada right now? Prevent the healthcare system from being overwhelmed? Prevent as many people as possible from getting COVID? Prevent vulnerable people from getting COVID? I’m confused about what we’re trying to accomplish.
There is no way his position is sustainable. This party was the death of either his Greenbelt policy or his reelection chances.

I think allegations of Chinese government interference in our elections is a big deal.
I think CSIS leaking secrets in an apparent attempt to pressure or undermine the government may be a bigger deal.
But we can’t talk about the second until we are taking the first seriously.
Two thoughts on the video.
First, Trudeau handled that well, as well as possible.
Second, it is uncomfortable to watch the reality of the China-Canada power relationship stripped of any pretence

I hate to be cynical but that’s my job. Why does a government invite the most heroic man in the world to come to Parliament to forcefully argue for a policy the government has no intention of adopting?
O’Toole attempted to move to the middle — but the more you chase the middle in politics, the faster it tends to move away from you.
The trick is not to move to the middle. It’s to move the middle to you.

The “progressive primary” may be over. Del Duca’s personal numbers catch up to the party vote. I suspect the NDP are really going to regret their first week, and hate ping pong for the rest of their lives

If I was running against Poilievre I would just assume from this rhetoric that he does not think the government should have brought in the CERB or the wage subsidy during COVID, and hang that around his neck
Of course Freeland defends Bank Gov— he’s been an ATM funding 2 yrs of inflationary spending.
More $ chasing fewer goods bids up prices so people can’t afford food, fuel & homes.
-Replace Gov with one who tackles inflation
-Axe inflationary taxes & deficits
-Protect our dollar

Most young Canadians don't believe they will EVER be able to own a home. Meanwhile Trudeau is spending $2.5 million of their money to build himself a "backup cottage."

No one is saying otherwise, Bruce. Hold individuals accountable for their actions. Do not disparage an entire group because of some individuals. In a healthy democracy, citizens have the right to be heard and to protest.
Yet again, the NDP/Liberal government showcase how they don’t care or understand that Canadian jobs, industries, and families rely on trucks not as a luxury but as a necessity.

A controversial Curse of Politics this week. I feel a need to make my position as clear as possible. A short thread. I approach the arrangement between the Liberal government and the NDP with the following assumptions.
Trudeau 18 months ago

The Liberals are sitting on their hands, while people need help.
The role of govt is to help people, not to protect the profits of corporate giants.
Demand PM Trudeau tax excessive profits and redistribute the funds to people who need help getting by.
Don’t be fooled: It’s Trudeau’s deficits that are causing inflation. ❗👇
Soaring prices and Liberal tax hikes will wipe out any relief Canadians were hoping for.
Cancelling tax hikes and ending wasteful spending is the only way to get prices under control.
