Visions of a past that never came to be, in which Sony succeeded in pushing MiniDisc and even made a Playstation with it.

First finished illustration of the new year! And of course it's some mecha nonsense! This was STARTED as a simple idea, just wanted to draw a mecha/robot starting from a cube. Got carried away.
Be like Toriyama, name your main characters things like Carrot, Bloomer Briefs, Vegetables, have them ride around in vintage cars and bikes that you really like simply because you wanted to draw them. Just have fun, don't worry too much.
Whenever there's some sort of top-secret leak on WarThunder forums, I'm reminded that a reaction image I drew a decade+ ago has apparently found a weird new life of it's own 😂
I'm cutting it a bit close, but with today being the 20th Anniversary of the Dreamcast, which is still one of my favourite consoles, I wanted to draw a little something in honor of it. Crazy to think it's been 20 years!

Last thing I'll post, though it's not something I've shelved or abandoned, just something I'm waiting until I have time to finish it.
I just never posted the finished lines before.
So here's my artistic journey, a drawing of a shrug from the beginning of the decade, and one from just a bit ago today. Perhaps I've gone backwards in some regards 😅
All of my favorite 90's design tropes CONDENSED into one:
Shoulder Pads : ✅️
Bandanas : ✅️
Random Bandages : ✅️
Metal Screws on clothing : ✅️
Holes or "dots" in metal, EXCLUSIVELY in sets of 3 : ✅️✅️✅️
The talk of "I can't wait for AI to generate endless 24/7 TV/content for me to consume" is depressing. The best part of shows, books, comics etc. is the ideas of the people that make it, seeing or reading thoughts that you haven't or would never have had
「骨」wasn't my first experience with characters representing images (though the term for it, 象形文字, I learned today!), but the image in my head of it was too cute!
I'm continuing to study and practice my handwriting, filled about 4 composition books so far 💀
I'm still very early in my journey of learning Japanese, so I hope my fascination with this learning mnemonic isn't found to be rude.
I also see my learning material taught me the hanzi form of 骨 instead of the kanji, so I apologize for making a bit of a fool of myself 😔
Today is apparently the 25th anniversary of Mischief Makers, that's wild to think about. Can't fully explain why I enjoy drawing it as much as I do, but I'll probably continue to do so in the future 😅
I love stumbling upon some old piece of tech/equipment that looks like it was just straight up ripped out of the universe of the movie Alien. Like this radio here
Blast from the past:
Did this in 2014, and I think it's the oldest piece of mine that I'm still rather proud of. All sorts of things I'd want to fix were I to do re-do it today, but I still like it overall.
