As we close out Second Chance Month & Alcohol Awareness Month, I am excited to launch my
@Poynter
Innovation Project: The Journalists Recovery Network.
The project is designed to give sober-curious writers an outlet to share thoughts & navigate options.
In the hopes it encourages anyone else who may be struggling, today marks 2 years (730 consecutive days, but who’s counting) of sobriety.
If I can do it, so can you! Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month.
I was in active addiction to alcohol at the time this photo was taken. Moments after it was taken, I was going to the bar. It would be 2 years before I would get help.
If you want it, support is always out there.

ATTN JOURNALISTS/REPORTERS/WRITERS/BROADCASTERS:
Congrats!! We have made it through another week of continuous coverage during a global, national and statewide pandemic.
A lot of people may not say thank you, but no matter your outlet or medium: Thank you for your coverage!
Wouldn't it be crazy if people were as quick to meet others with compassion, kudos & compliments as they are to offer up criticism, comparrison & negative commentary (even when things do go awry)?
