It's egregious that the league is getting credit for this. The goal was for teams to play tougher in the non-con. It has done the complete opposite.
The worst example? Iowa State
1st 4 games of the season:
Green Bay 85-44
Lindenwood 102-47
Idaho State 86-55
Grambling 92-37
I caught a lot of crap for saying I thought the Big XII had gamed the system.
These aren't baseless claims. I don't think the league is as good as it has been this season.
The reason? They haven't played anyone at all during the nonconference, beat the life out of teams ranked…

Beating bad teams by 40+ is hard to do. If the ACC teams could do it, they would! And if the ACC knew they’d have to face Top 50 teams every night in conference play, they’d probably schedule an easy non-conference too. But they know they get to play Louisville, BC, GT, Pitt
@T_Oglesby22
Literally nobody is giving us credit for these games (besides the NET), and we aren’t asking for it either. Maybe it’s the 2 top 10 home wins and the top 25 road win without our most impactful player are the ones people have their eyes on.
@T_Oglesby22
Terry, I regret to inform you that your narrative takes a turn for the worse when you realize that the ISU teams of old would be lucky to win each of these games by 15 or more.
Are these teams weak? Yes. Does it take a really good team to win all 4 of them by 30+ each? Also yes
@T_Oglesby22
We scheduled these garbage teams and blew there doors off like we should whereas some teams don’t do that when they schedule them. We did our job. I don’t see a problem
Here's another way to look at this. Conf records vs. other Power 6 leagues:
Big 12: 30-24 (55.6%)
Big East: 27-23 (54.0%)
SEC: 37-32 (53.6%)
ACC: 29-31 (48.3%)
Big Ten: 24-26 (48.0%)
Pac-12: 13-24 (35.1%)
Big boys vs. big boys, the Big 12 was the best
