Delighted to be the Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Reigate, Redhill, Banstead, Tattenham Corner and the villages
From involvement in local sports clubs to hopefully the next MP, the polls say we're level-pegging the Tories

Many thanks to the 20,785 people who voted for me yesterday.
And a big thank you to the 100s who campaigned for me.
I'm sad we didn't win here or across the country.Our plans would have made a big difference.But we did not convince people that we could deliver our programme.
The latest polls are showing us neck and neck in Loughborough so please come up to push us over the line on 12th December. Book the day off and confirm via this link- thanks!
Lots of support on the doorstep in

today.
People have seen the record waiting times in A & E and know after 9 years of Tory rule only

If you live in the

Constituency the Lib Dems got under 4% last time. If you want this
#brexit
nightmare over with you must vote for me. I pledge to campaign for remain.
I disagree with the policies
@NickyMorgan01
supported but being an MP should not leave you open to aggressive abuse, and to see it play a role in driving someone out of politics is concerning. It is something we all need to fight back against. I wish her and her family well.
It's neck and neck here in Loughborough. We need all Labour activists in the region to come to Leicestershire's only marginal on polling day to get on the

Am not sure that giving people a £15k reduction on the cost of buying a £500k house is the best use of £3.8bn right now, given who will be most affected economically by
#covid19
,,,,which happens to be the same people who were impacted by years of austerity.
Today in Loughborough we're hosting Jeremy Corbyn to launch our youth manifesto and encourage all young people to register to vote.
Make sure you have a say in your future.

Across Adur & Worthing, hard work is bringing people back to Labour. I want to use my decades of leading campaigns to help secure two Labour Councils and front up to Tim Loughton: I’m the candidate he will fear most.

It's clear that Grant Shapps has zero interest in actual negotiation with those who don't want a real terms pay-cut.
As Transport Secretary he simply refused to engage properly with the rail unions, and now he is trying to ban strikes.
All politics, no government.
Greeted by the man himself at Flitwick Station this evening: such energy and enthusiasm.
Good luck to
@alistrathern
for today's Mid-Bedfordshire by-election. Was very happy to knock some doors for him with
@paul_mcnamee_
and others

A number of voters have got in touch to ask about electoral reform. Whilst at this election I am urging people to vote tactically as the Lib Dems got under 4% last time I do take the
#PledgeForPR
and believe in electoral reform.
Nicky Morgan's transition from seemingly sensible centrist to being complicit in Boris's Brexit at all costs approach, confirmed by her joining his cabinet. I'm genuinely shocked.
We need change.Homeless people need change, people on NHS waiting lists need change, children going without special needs support need change, students racking up debt need change, our planet needs change. Vote Labour.
#change4loughborough
Richard Burgon should have been sacked from our front bench a long time ago for his comments on "Zionists" and repeated denials about them.Astonished he's so emboldened as to run for our deputy leadership.
We need to get real: the Labour Party is in a bad place, on many levels. We need to admit we are at rock bottom.
Here is my speech to my local Party after our unsuccessful effort to win Loughborough.
Big tip.
If you ever want a big ego boost, get knocked out of a Parliamentary selection early on.
Mine is certainly getting some much needed inflation upon my East Worthing and Shoreham longlist fail, courtesy of local Members' kind messages.
No statement. That's politics.
The comments by both Rees-Mogg on the Grenfell tragedy and from our county's Andrew Bridgen MP defending him show how warped and amoral this Tory Party has become. Fringe figures, now centre-stage.
The
@BBCRadio4
PM interview now with Andrew Bridgen defending him was as shocking as Rees-Mogg’s original comments about
#Grenfell
& both showed themselves to completely detached from reality.
Dear VC Bob and COO Richard Taylor, if we gave you £12bn could you do exactly the same as you're doing in Loughborough to identify and isolate Covid cases but for the whole country?
Oh, and if you could sort out that vanishing spreadsheet issue that'd be great too.
#covid19uk
The latest update on the number of Covid-19 cases at Loughborough University is now on our website.
We are providing advice and support to those students affected.
These figures relate to information shared via our Connect and Protect service.
Congratulations to
@Alewin7
who was today selected as the candidate for Welwyn Hatfield.
A very well run campaign that bodes well for taking the seat from Grant Shapps. I know Andrew will be a great champion for the area as candidate and MP.
Thank you Emily.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who sacrifice so much because they know how important it is for us to have Labour government.
#VoteLabour
Last week, I was campaigning in Loughborough with my friend
@stuart4lboro
, and the wonderful
@LBoroLabour
team. As I’ve said up and down the country these last six weeks, we are nothing without our volunteers, and we thank you all. Now let’s make it count on Thursday.
"Get Brexit Done" is utterly false.
I used to work on trade talks: Johnson's
#Brexit
will go on for years, and years, and years. As trade agreements with the EU and US get bogged down and the US seeks access to all markets including our
#nhs
#ITVDebate
We will end in-work poverty, food poverty, foodbank use and rough sleeping.
We simply ask those at the top to pay a little bit more so that we can properly fund the services we all rely on.

LABOUR ARE GOING TO HAVE A REFERENDUM ON BREXIT IF IN GOVERNMENT
That is perfectly clear.
Here in Loughborough the only way to get a

is to vote Labour.

The morning after the Labour Sports Dinner at The Oval with
@LabourForSport
.
Which thanks to our team and amazing
@CliveTyldesley
was a great success.
Beautiful walk from our house through Woodmansterne to Laveneder Cafe in Banstead.
If it is necessary to have a daily press conference given the gravity of our situation, surely it really ought to be Members of Parliament asking the questions in a virtual Parliament not just members of the Press.
This a betrayal of our young people. During the election campaign the candidates were asked at the
@lborouniversity
@LoughboroughSU
hustings about continued membership of Erasmus.
I assume that Jane Hunt voted against this amendment.
MPs have voted against New Clause 10 being read a second time, by 344 votes to 254.
This new clause would have required the Government to seek to negotiate continuing full membership of the EU’s Erasmus+ education and youth programme.
Great to meet and support
@sikhs4labour
and meet
@TanDhesi
, the man who told our Prime Minister there is no place for his divisive language in our society.
We are having a get together at the Fennel St club from 5pm tomorrow (Sunday)...it's on (ahem) Fennel St, Loughborough, next door to Unity House. It's a fuddle: so if you can bring a plate or some grazeables please do (not compulsory). Bar will be open til late...
Please come!
Johnson fib of the day in
#ITVDebate
about corporation tax plans claiming Labour will put corporation tax to highest in Europe.
Wrong!26% lower than most big EU states and needed for costed public service investment.
He told the same fib yesterday.
Spin around
#LabourSplit
will be saying it's about creating a new centre ground party. But the reality is that our policies at the last general election were straightforward centre ground policies.Which are desperately needed by the communities and economies of regions like mine.
As I told the BBC Politics yesterday: our plans for a Green Industrial revolution will address the Climate Emergency and create well paid jobs for our area.

elected as Loughborough’s next MP! Join us - especially on polling day!
What we're seeing at the
#capitol
is not just the product of
#trump
it is a direct result of the way the Republican Party has cowardly stood by Trump throughout, failed to condemn him, indulged his lies persistent attacks on democracy and the US Constitution.
Mad dogs, Englismen/women and Labour Campaigners!
Hot! But still lots of meaningful conversations across three different sessions today: one in Worthing, one in Southwick and one in Shoreham.
Same theme: people feel as if the country is being run really badly.
Many thanks to the Loughborough Church Partnership for hosting a great hustings at the St Peter's Centre this evening and thanks to the attendees for their excellent questions. As I said to the audience, we can do so much better than this in the 6th largest economy in the world.
As the son of a Hertfordshire teacher it was wonderful to see teachers coming together to demand pay that keeps up with inflation and proper funding for education.
Well done to

Having worked in and represented people from Wigan, St Helens, Rotherham, Grimsby, Birkenhead, Stockport, Boston, Walsall, Wrexham, Dudley.. and many similar places: this is a very important point. Labour needs to reconnect, understand and properly represent these areas.
There has been a lot of debate on what went wrong and what we should do next, but nothing yet has come close to understanding what has been happening in our towns for decades.
Devastated for
@ValShawcross
. The incredibly capable and diligent mayoral candidate for
@UKLabour
. We should be grateful for all the work she has put in for months. We could not have had a better candidate and she was the reason we ran it so close.
Delighted to be back in practice

First trial back tomorrow, and I'm going paperless for the first time. Embracing the brave new world!
So
@NickyMorgan01
are you going to support legal action against this prorogation of Parliament? As you say here, it's "extraordinary" and has put us in a "constitutional crisis"
Tory MP Nicky Morgan tells
@PaulBrandITV
she'd support legal action against the prorogation of Parliament, if it was a way to avoid crashing out the EU, in the latest episode of

I know it's not high-profile politics, but I was delighted to see that this very dangerous foot bridge next to Maxwell Drive in Loughborough, used by young and old, had been fixed after I had to chase both our Councils to do so.
I strongly feel we need a new type of leadership after our worst election results 1935. The storm has scuppered my attendance today, but I'd be delighted if you could support Lisa Nandy at Loughborough CLP's nomination meeting at the Polish club this afternoon.
On 6 November 1946, Nye Bevan’s National Health Service Bill became law.
The Tories voted against the NHS Bill 22 times. Labour created the NHS and Labour will always care for it. It needs that care now more than ever.
I am always careful about what I call for light of financial and other constraints: BUT I FULLY SUPPORT THIS POLICY AIM OF 100,000 SOCIALLY RENTED HOUSES A YEAR. Homelessness and poor housing is a MASSIVE CRISIS. We need affordable homes for all.
Been so uplifting to campaign with the members of
@WorthingWestCLP
and
@LabourEWS
for tomorrow's elections.
The quality of the candidates is incredibly high, and
@BeccyCooper4Lab
and her team are doing a brilliant job of showing what Labour can do in power.
REMEMBER YOUR ID!
Our economy needs to change for the planet to survive.
320,000 climate apprenticeships. That's urgent transformative action.
Loughborough and surrounding areas can and will benefit massively.
“Climate Apprenticeships will offer training to school leavers and workers looking to change jobs mid-career, creating the engineers, technicians and construction workers we need to transition to a green economy." -

33% of disabled people have had problems travelling by train – this must change. I’ve just signed

While I wad attending last night's well attended meeting on floods, there was a climate debate on TV: we reiterated our manifesto commitment to invest in flood defences in the E Mids.
Labour will invest in improving the standard of flood defences.
We will prioritise at-risk areas in North West England, Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
