58th Vanier Cup in the books!
My 2nd Vanier with
@cbcsports
🏆
Had so much fun over the last 7 days, it’s truly been a pleasure working with/learning from
@MLeePxP
,
@signabutler
and the entire crew!
Congrats to the
@Carabins
, here’s a clip from our opening - I love openings
What I love about this KD saga is that it’s forcing the NBA and the NBA media to finally publicly acknowledge how loaded the Toronto Raptors currently are on talent.
Graduated from the University of Waterloo, got my degree in the mail today
I was 17 when I chose Waterloo. Thought football would be my life for 5 years
But the person I am today was made off the field
Athletes, dont be afraid to build a life for yourself outside of sports
Siakam had 30 points tonight.
Gary Trent Jr. had 7 points.
Boucher had 4 points.
This is all I need to prove that Raptors fans are DEEP in the business of scapegoating Pascal Siakam.
Good Morning
Just want to tell Raptors fans who are showing love to Trent Jr. not to turn their backs on him if he ever struggles in the playoffs just like they turned their backs on Siakam after being an All-Star, 2nd team All-NBA and scoring the Championship clinching bucket
Not enough CFL fans follow U SPORTS football
It’s comical to me
They’re “pro” Canadian football yet can’t even name the defending national champions at the university level
Sure, not on TV, but if you really want to support the overall culture, you’d make an effort to keep up
Over 90k Tennessee fans stormed the field and its being called one of the most iconic moments in NCAA football history
20k Ottawa fans stormed the field at Panda, commentators got upset, one viewer tried to say it coulda been a safety hazard
Culture up here gotta change!
Drake just posted an IG story of him sitting in his living room watching the CEBL
a lot of CFL fans will get mad if you suggest playing rap music on broadcasts, some even comparing it to switching to 4 downs, yikes 😬
But that’s 111M people watching Drake tune into the CEBL..
What a privilege it must be to watch this press conference and be upset about Ontario shutting down outdoor sports and recreation, but then not even phased by the reality that they just gave police the power to stop anyone without a cause.
If you are seriously questioning whether or not the CFL ratio matters to fans then you should not be included in any football conversations at any levels because you clearly don’t understand the deeper importance of it, and how it preserves university football in this country.
Began PRSVRE in Jan/2019 after I was rejected for a job at my uni’s newspaper. I was eager for an opportunity to break into media but couldn’t find a pathway, so I created one. Proud day for this small team. Thank you to all who support this brand. This isnt possible without you!
Happy to share I’ve joined the Board of Directors at Football Ontario
In 2024, my biggest goal has been to be intentional with my energy
So, when the opportunity was presented back on March 5th, I didn’t hesitate
Happy to be helping grow football at home 🏈❤️
@FootballOntario
Curious to see what TSN does from a music standpoint this year for the CFL.
Not gonna lie, if it end ups being another country song, it’ll just come off as ignorant on TSN’s part because there’s nooo wayyyy they haven’t been hearing/reading fan feedback.
Today I learned that the financial burdens that 🇨🇦Uni athletes deal with is a huge unspoken issue
Athletes in highschool have no clue yet
Athletes in university are too afraid to speak out on it
And former athletes just forget it because its in the past
This is all concerning
What 1 big idea I would have to move the sport of football forward in Canada?
As a U SPORTS advocate, I think it’s time for a new playoff format…

Saw someone say that the CFL needs to start using some hip hop music instead of just country
I do agree. And hip hop doesn’t JUST cater to the younger audience, it probably caters to few ethnic groups too
Fans wanna feel connected, and music does a good job of achieving that 🙏🏾
No room for senseless hatred against U SPORTS announcers.
Unless you’ve gone through the process of what it’s like to prep and been behind a live mic, you shouldn’t be talking.
Can people do better, like anything else in life? Always
But the hateful comments just aren’t it
Don’t tell me the U SPORTS Men’s and Women’s basketball finals are at the same time.
Naw this ain’t right. I don’t wanna choose one, and I wanna be able to give my 100% attention to both.
I refuse to forget all the people that came on this app and tried to crucify me for bigging up Tre Ford
And for what? The man is a Canadian QB, what do you lose in cheering for him too?
Unbelievable I had to argue with CFL analysts and former players about this man’s potential
I think the CFL draft should not feature NCAA Canadians, U SPORTS players only, NCAA Canadians sign on as free agents like NCAA Americans do, and can still count towards the Canadian ratio.
NCAA Canadians will always have a home here, I’d rather focus on U SPORTS players though
Can we just take a step back and acknowledge that this current generation of U SPORTS quarterbacks is SPECIAL
- Senecal
- Fagnan
- Rooker
- Hillock
- Desjardins
- Elgersma
- Tachinski
And we got 2 more years with most of these guys, such a strong class
As fans we are BLESSED
So happy for Tyson Philpot - one of the most decorated U SPORTS players of the last 15 years 💪
▪️U SPORTS ROTY (‘18)
▪️Hardy Cup Champion (‘19)
▪️National Champion (‘19)
▪️First Team All-Canadian (‘21)
▪️Canada West MVP (‘21)
Add:
▪️Grey Cup Champion (‘23)
▪️Grey Cup MVC (‘23)
U SPORTS should acknowledge that Theo Benedet was signed by the Bears
He’s the reigning Lineman of the Year and he’s only one of few players to have ever won the award twice
He’s been an important figure in U SPORTS for years, and deserves highest praise from everyone 🙏🏾
My thoughts:
Tons of people blaming U SPORTS for not accepting SFU’s football program.
But did they request to rejoin because they want to be a part of U SPORTS long-term? Or because they just needed a temporary home?
Say what you want, but these things matter.
The Purdue-Alabama Men’s basketball game happening right now in Toronto is empty.
But you won’t see anyone saying the talent level must be bad if no one is watching.
Marketing matters, and we need to have the same mindset when it comes to U SPORTS. The talent is just fine.
Real question
Even if SFU’s program gets restored, why would future players want to play for a school that clearly has shown they don’t care about the players or program?
The AD doesn’t care, why would players go there? Why would parents want their child going there? … 1/6
Over the last 2 weeks I’ve attended:
- CFL Invitational Combine
- OUA Queen’s Cup
- All 4 Days of U Cup + Practice day
Plus watched and closely followed:
- Men’s and Women’s Final 8
- Women’s Hockey Natty’s
- OUA McCaw Cup
No time wasted, I am TIRED
2023 Mitchell Bowl in the books!
My 3rd
@USPORTSca
National Semifinal game with
@cbcsports
and my 4th game overall
Had a blast with the crew along with
@MLeePxP
calling what ended up being a monumental day for UBC⚡️
Hope you all enjoyed the game!
See you soon 🙏
Something Edmonton can do to give their team a spark:
▪️Start 🇨🇦 QB Tre Ford
Something Ottawa can do to save their season:
▪️Sign 🇨🇦 QB Michael O’Connor
Just wrapped up combine weekend, my first time seeing everything from start to finish. Gotta say BIG UPS to everyone at the CFL working to put this stuff together behind the scenes
There wasn’t a single athlete that I linked up with this weekend that didn’t enjoy the experience
PRSVRE’s 2023 end-of-year report just came out.
Shook, appreciate everyone who’s taken a belief in this entity over the last 4 years.
Crazy year behind us, crazy year ahead of us!
5 days.
Over 20 hours of film captured.
Hope you’ve been enjoying all of the great features that we at
@PRSVRE_
produced during East-West week.
There’s more to come.
Shoutouts to each and every single player or coach that sat down with us or let us mic them up 🏈
Happiest moment of the year:
Probably watching my brother Josh play for StFX in the Mitchell Bowl then hopping on air 30 min later to do commentary for the Uteck Bowl. Then linking up with him right after for the first time in 6 months and just talking about how good God is.
The weirdest thing thats happened to me while covering uni sports was a school’s athletic department actually hit me up cause they were angry that I was highlighting their school after a win
Yes, angry
Those are the type of people who are preventing the culture from thriving
Stop looking at mobile U SPORTS QBs and saying they should switch positions in the pros
Being mobile is the standard for the next generation of NFL QBs
You really think 24 teams called just to ask if Tre Ford could play other positions?
Shows you how behind we are in Canada
If a tree falls, but no one’s around to hear it, does it make a sound?
The CFL should ask themselves that question next year when the topic of whether or not to stream the combine comes up.
Now granted, from the pics, it’s looks great.
Laval vs Concordia on a Sunday during thanksgiving?
I feel bad for the players and coaches, that should be family time
Just like how I didn’t like that Ottawa and Laurier played last night.
Get the games over with on Friday and send the athletes/coaches home for a bit
I did colour for the first time ever on Saturday alongside
@TSN_Marsh
for the Uteck Bowl on
@cbcsports
I need to thank
@JBower_sports
for the opportunity🙏🏾
Game was a classic, I hope this moment lives in the minds of Sask football fans for a long time 🤟🏾
The
@queensgaels
have been rollin’ as of recent, but what does it mean?
I think it means they’re right where they need to be to challenge for a Yates 🏆

@KGNonTSN
With the traction and top tier content
@StephensPRSVRE
has been making on TikTok for BOTH USports and
#CFL
— the fact that either league hasn’t hired him yet is mind boggling to me.
I think that the culture that the CEBL is pushing right now literally caters to the demographic that the CFL is seeking to draw in.
Also, the CEBL’s commissioner is a former CFL player. Not sure if that adds any legitimacy to my point, just thought it would be noteworthy.
I get that a lot of people are mad about the news about the OUA not being deemed a “elite amateur sports league” by the government
But I seriously see it more as a wake up call for stakeholders in the Ontario university sports community. They need to learn why they were left out
I think when people look at Tre Ford and try to say this has been done before. Well no it hasn’t been done before
Yes, U SPORTS QBs have made it to the NFL
But, never has a U SPORTS QB been seen as arguably the best QB in a CFL and NFL draft class. And do it in this day & age?
Can we stop with the pettiness in reaction to Canadians playing well in the CFL.
We can’t be coming here every week and throwing shade at the league/owners everytime a Canadian scores a TD 😭
We know Canadians can ball, been knowing, now let’s move forward and enjoy.
Currently one of my biggest role models in life:
@C_Grant2
Great seeing you on
@cbcsports
just now talking about how schools and coaches across the OUA are seeking to end systemic racism in sports while opening doors for women.
Appreciate the work you’re doing, coach 🙏🏾✊🏾
The Elks have been a franchise who’ve taken pride in listening to their fans
But, this Tre Ford decision is probably as important as it gets. Cause above all the giveaways and ticket deals, fans just wanna win
Also, you drafted him so high (rightfully so), so why not play him?
Lol if you’re not watching
@CEBLeague
at this point, then idek what to say anymore 😭
It’s Canadian, your boys/former teammates are probably playing in the league. You can watch for free on CEBL+ OR now you can now go watch games live.
What more do I need to say, honestly 😭😭
Here’s my general fear for Canadian sports (speaking generally)
The reluctancy for 🇨🇦 professional sports leagues (who benefit most) to work with high-quality independent sports media companies is gonna result in those companies turning their attentions south
Already seeing it
Just seeing that the football head coaching job at York was reposted.
I really hope they bring in a winner who is statistically proven.
I do not care about brand.
Toronto needs a winner.
I think the lack of Canadian QBs at the combine - to the point where there’s only 1 QB remaining, and a REC has to step in at QB - proves that it may be time for the CFL to start looking at more ways bro support Canadian QBs
CTV News has obtained a photo showing the suspect in Sunday's hate-motivated attack on a Muslim family in London. The suspect is charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
If Tyrell Ford, Deionte Knight, and Anthony Federico don’t end up in NFL rookie camps I’d be shocked to be honest.
If Tre Ford does it, you’re talking about a culture defining moment for Canadian quarterbacks
$40 for a media pass is ridiculous when you consider those same people capturing and producing content are the ones literally BUILDING YOUR TEAM OR ORGANIZATIONS BRAND
Media passes should be be FREE.
Sports-betting company BetVictor recently conducted a study on ALL Canadian professional sports franchises, with the CFL’s Argos being the most affordable team to watch 🤝
The double blue scored a 91 out of 100, indicating they present “exceptional value” to any sports fan ✅
My favourite DMs are the ones from angry randoms that include lines such as “if you’re actually tryna build U SPORTS, as you claim” followed by direct orders and criticism
“As you claim” is always included
All I’ve ever claimed is all U SPORTS athletes deserve full rides 😂
To USPORTS athletes. No sports, no injuries, no distractions. There is NO reason why you shouldn’t be able to keep those grades up and get your scholarships this year! It doesn’t get any easier than this. There should be a record-setting amount of Academic All-Canadians this year
The fact the Concordia isn’t included on the recent U SPORTS top 10 after coming off a bye week yet Regina is included shows me that the Top 10 is basically just a “who had a good week” list 😂
