Hey Folks! I appeared on
@FranciskaKosman
’s podcast to talk about some of the Abuse Survivor Advocacy work I’ve been doing, and a recent case I was involved in.
I’d love if you gave it a listen ❤️

I think she tried to make him fear for his life as punishment for daring to talk to her out of turn.
She let the mask slip, if you will.
People who bring up Ukraine’s history of antisemitism aren’t lying, but are folks aware that Tsarist Russia didn’t even *contain any Jews* at all due to them being banned and confined to the ‘pale of settlement’?
Hot Take: The Ancient Sages of Judaism were much more practical in their treatment of sexuality, and the puritanical obsession with purity we now have is a relatively modern construct.

The guy who sold twitter to Elon and then tried to sell the sale to us, but then launched a competitor where he said he longer trusts Elon, can’t stop himself from continuing to indulge Elon.
It’s time for some serious soul-searching when hiring a trans person causes a bigger community upheaval and crisis at a school than hiring a sex abuser ever did.
#FoodForThought
Anyone who has a problem with a Child Sex Abuse survivor only speaking out when their abuser dies, on the grounds that “they can’t defend themselves”, should consider that neither could the victim.
People who hit their kids because they were hit and they “turned out fine” should realize that believing it’s ok to be hit is itself the most insidious wound having been beaten leaves.
I want to ask everyone to please consider not sending around the videos or pictures of bodies & other horrible sights.
Some of us would rather not see them.
Houston Food Not Bombs (which has been around since 1994) has now been ticketed at least 30 times for sharing free food with unhoused neighbors.
Each ticket is $2000!
It specifically says “feed homeless” on the citation.
Today is our oldest child & apple of my eye’s 12th birthday 🥹
To say I’m proud of him would be the understatement of the decade. He was born early (32 weeks) and weighed only 2lbs12oz after birth. Now he’s the most spectacular boy I could have ever imagined 💗
God is good 🙏🏼
I really wonder if Ch*ya R*ichik supports gender reassignment surgery at 8 days old, or is it *just* the LGBTQ+ community’s kids she needs to save from “mutilation”

“The Yeshiva education issue” is that Yeshivas illegally withhold a secular education from their students, leaving them illiterate & ignorant. Those same Yeshivas ALSO take in many millions of $$ from City, State and Federal funds meant for educating the kids.
#YeshivaGate
Rabbi David Niederman told the Forward that the “consensus among the community leaders was to support the candidacy of Mr. Yang because of this refreshing approach to the Yeshiva education issue.”
I just paid a shiva call to a friend mourning his daughter. I captured his own father singing הַנְשָמָה לָך וְהַגוּף פְּעֳלָך חוּסָה עַל עָמָלָך
Translation: “The soul is Yours, and the body is Your handiwork , have mercy on the fruit of Your labors”
Not a dry eye in the room.
I’m trying to brace myself for hearing the names and and seeing the faces of the victims that will inevitably be made public. I don’t know how to cope.
We are gripped by unspeakable horror.
Confession: when we don’t have guests for Thanksgiving, we roast a whole chicken instead of turkey because it tastes better and we’re a small family.
I just zoom in when taking the bird photo and no one can tell the difference.
Once R’ Chaim of Brisk was asked what the function, the job description if you will, of a rabbi is. R’ Chaim replied: "To redress the grievances of those who are abandoned & alone, to protect the dignity of the poor, and to save the oppressed from the hands of his oppressor."
Asking people whose human rights are being violated “why don’t they just leave” everything they know and believe in when, they cry out about the ways their society fails them, strikes me as cruel indifference - not to mention intellectual laziness
overall im delighted with how my story landed, but frustrated by the "why don't orthodox women just leave" comments. why don't YOU leave your family, your friends, your town, the culture you've known all your life, maybe even your first language, under threat of losing your kids?
If you didn’t have a rebbe who literally and physically broke your or your classmates’ bones during your elementary Yeshiva years, you really have no say in whether we need reforms when those who did go through this say we do.
This is what
#YeshivaGate
is
Through my sex abuse victim advocacy work, I have learned that it is quite common for women trying to obtain an Orthodox divorce to be sexually propositioned by one or more of the rabbis involved in exchange for “help” with the process (the implication of declining being clear)
Yesterday was a banner day in the Leifer household.
My oldest, who is 12, sat for an exam on a full chapter of Talmud (perek Hakones) at which he recited the entire thing verbatim from memory, AND his team won the championship for their age group at flag football league.
If *I* ran a nonprofit for survivors of sexual abuse in the Jewish community, I simply would NOT pose for photos shoulder to shoulder with an alleged Jewish sexual predator 🤌🏼🤷🏻♂️
