The infrastructure in Congo and forest thicket make it so hard to maneuver. In the eastern part of Congo, a hotspot for the ADF, it is very unsafe to even move out of the car. We kept getting stuck and stopping to make sure we left no one behind. Our soldiers sacrifice alot!

During an operation by the UPDF, a baby from the ADF camp survived but without anyone to look after it. The baby was given to Adong, a solider and mother who is now taking care of him in kalembo. He was named Tolit Bahati (lucky) and added Otyang after the commander who saved.

On his visit to the 3rd sector in Mwalika valley, General Olum and the team had to cross river semliki. This was dangerous but the only solution. The UPDF have noted the lack of proper standard infrastructure as an impediment to their work to eliminate the ADF in congo.
