20 Apr 2022: Water - 59.7F / 15.4C; Air - 55.4F / 13.0C. Really is that warm. The thermometer never lies, unlike prime minister Boris Johnson who always does.

Today we mourn those lost in recent tragedies at sea.
The hundreds of desperate refugees drowned off Greece
The five adventurers on the Titan submersible
And our fellow Channel swimmer Iain Hughes
May the waves carry them to peaceful eternal rest.
29 Nov 2022: Water - 46.4F / 8.0C; Air - 46.4F / 8.0C. Guessing the temperature but it's bloody chilly. Parliament Hill Lido has lifeguards. We don't. Please underdo it.
11 Jan 2022: Water - 41.9F / 5.5C; Air - 46.4F / 8.0C. I don't know whether I attended the Serpentine this morning, it's still the subject of an investigation.

24 Jan 2022: Water - 39.2F / 4.0C; Air - 39.2F / 4.0C. Water is densest at 4 degrees C as its cooling molecules slow down. Below 4C, it starts to expand again because fixed hydrogen bonds form holding the molecules apart, a peculiarity shared by no other liquid.
28 Apr 2021: Water - 54.5F / 12.5C; Air - 50.0F / 10.0C. We salute the tragic bravery of Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole, lost in a rescue attempt at London Bridge.
23 Apr 2023: Water - 54.5F / 12.5C; Air - 50.0F / 10.0C. This is a test of Everybody Out, a new Serps Club service that will warn you when to stop swimming. In the event, head to the nearest exit, get out and have a cup of tea. This is a test. You do not need to take any action.
24 Mar 2022: Water - 51.8F / 11.0C; Air - 51.8F / 11.0C. Wardens keep us safe and swimming. Some even babysit and bring cake. What's not to like? Thank them and join them!
Members will be aware of the Prime Ministers statement this evening.
The Serpentine Swimming Club will therefore comply and cease swimming activity with immediate effect.
I do not think I need to add more.
